Description Sooo.....as you can probably tell, this was my first time painting a person. There are some things that REALLY bother me, but I suppose that can't be helped. For a first try, I'm mildly pleased with it. ((and as usual, it looks better in person....cameras and computers are my enemies))
Critiques/advice/call-it-what-you-will would be helpful!!

It looks waaay different in real life. It's much brighter, and the shades of his skin are more apparent.
You may see for yourself. Hopefully sometime soon?

Well Done! This is by far one of my favorites! the painting and the strokes are very smooth...almost flawless! did you draw out the guy first then paint it????? that's what i usually have to do......but the shading is just right! I LOVE IT! great job...try some more....may i sagest watercolor?

Thank you! Yeah, I had to draw it out. It would've been *horrific* otherwise. The shading was fun, although I could've put more thought into where exactly the light source was...
I will definitely be painting more. Probably landscapes and stuff, but I wanted to try a challenge.

good job though!! i don't know why...but the flash from the camera compliments the photo...it sorta goes with your shading...hmmmm

Actually... I turned the flash off..? O_o .....oh, wait, there was a lamp to the right of the painting, so that why that side is brigther.
