Awesome. This makes me think of Magritte's painting, too. The one with the couples kissing, I believe.

I love Dr. Zimbardo, but which experiment does this pertain to? I love it, though. Reminds me of SAW... O.o

the prison experiment...it was inspired by theme such as this, but not directly...linking to the concept of behavior, learned habits, and social training.

I decided to browse your gallery and was stunned to see the concepts!
The sack over the head makes me think that the person has been shut off from the world. Like how a hunting raven or hawk is trained. They use hoods to block out the sunlight thus putting a barrier between them and the sky.Or they would sew their lids close. That's where the blood struck a cord with me. It looks as if the blood splat is where the mouth should be, sewed closed so they will learn whatever lesson is being taught.
I have more to say but then the comment would get too long, and anyway you know how the saying goes. The more a picture tells you, the less you know.

So great.... quite a strong image. From a photo editing perspective I like the brushes you used on the edges, works nicely.

Wow, very powerful. And disturbing! .. but in a good way.
The sheet over the head gives such a trapped feeling, and the blood just adds to it. Makes you question the persons story, how they got into the situation etc.. it makes me think of a captive tied to a chair. I don't know who dr.zimbardo is.. so I might be way off centre. But the point is it makes me feel something and that's important. The right shoulder is the only thing in this piece I find questionable, I don't know what it is about it, it just seems a bit unsharp at the edges, almost unfinished.. But really great work, as I said, supremely powerful.

thank you for the indepth feedback!! zimbardo did an experiment in the 70s wher he took a bunch of college students and apporinted them as either a prison guard or a prisoner, and set up a mock prision. then he recorded their involvement in the "play" prison. they were not instructed how to act but were encouraged. nothing was inforced, however, and he ended up having to cut it off short because it got too serious. it just shows that humans can mentally adapt so well to their surroundings and situations that they begin to act in ways they never usually would. they all knew that it wasn't real, but some of them were psychologically affected to the point of abuse and depression. you should look it up, it's amazingly scary.

Ohhh that! I studied that! They became mad with power and the prisoners became depressed and such. Mhm, I remember now.
