So alone in such heart warming light... Maybe it is better to be alone like that. A single bloom, lost too soon to the ever maddening crowd. Red crown to bear for a little while, but it's beauty gone all to soon.

Alone and in a protective flower bud, I found it an excellent model to illustrate those words: : "I protect myself. I defend myself."
And yes, maybe it doesn't like too much crowd, hence its loneliness is a conscious choice. Anyway, I saw it in The Botanical Garden in Amarillo, tried to talk to, but it seemed too shy, so I will never be sure what was its theory about life.^^

Maybe it's isolation makes it shy, but in a way it seems all the stronger because of it. I’m sure it would have had many interesting things to say if it had decided to speak. ^^
