Description Last week was a little rough and I needed to change the date of this story till today. But, at the same time, the last days gave me ideas and thoughts that changed this story. This is the alternate, but now true version of this story - the other one will remain untold, but perhaps one day, it will resurface in some form. This one is my biggest and most complex drawing to this day like this project and the one where I tried and experimented with the most things, also I learned a lot working on this one.

The story below. ➡️

I invite you to follow me on Instagram, where I share more updates and news about my projects.

Thank you for being here and enjoy this next chapter! 💙✏️

He stood right above the shop on the terrace, observing the peculiar doorframe with strange markings on the entrance glass. They adored that place, and he cherished these eccentrics.

“Is there ever a time when you don’t have a damned philosophical hangover?” The lightness in her voice—a silent joke hidden beneath the flowing words—Angel. He glimpsed her wings before her smiling face turned towards him. Her name, chosen by Krivian as an ironic joke towards her draconic mutations, had become a source of pride.

“You know I don’t have the amazing ability to spit or pee on every matter like Krivian… metaphorically, of course. But with him, I wouldn’t be sure of anything…” – he squinted his eyes to better appreciate Koohoort’as amazing patience towards her clowning partner.

“Said – Mr. ‘I don’t turn everything into a joke because I don’t want to talk about it,’” – she smiled, but he sensed that she was deadly serious. He saw it in her piercing eyes, soft yet intense, gazing into the beautiful colors of heterochromia—only the gods know how she can do this.

“You know, now probably many things will change, and I think it is normal that you feel this. Damn, everyone feels similar. But isn't this what you always wanted? A new start?”

“Yeah, kind of, but now it is hard to decide what I really want… hey, do you still see those mirages of time?”

“Yes, but you know I can’t talk about them…”

“Right… It would be great if we could use them to decide better…”

“Sometimes I wonder, why us?” – she asked after a moment of eloquent silence.

“Why us, what?”

“Why are we like this? Why does everyone live such different lives? Why don’t we get the same chances and things in life? Why are some of us screwed while others live like everything is in the right place?”

“Maybe someone simply lost a bet in a previous life or some higher being got entangled in the play of red bills?” – Krivian's voice emerged as he finished his walk up the stairs.

“Yeah, that's highly probable, and you probably stole his cards and winnings; that's why you're so lucky,” – Ru added to his response, walking right behind him with Koohoor.

“So, is this how it will end? Right here where everything started?” – Koohoor finally voiced the thought that had been in everyone's mind until now.

“You know, it was fun, these last three years, but we must take care of things that matter to us, or simply make our world and life better.” – Ru said

“So, one thing ends, another begins, right?”

“Yeah, probably. This is the moment of transition that every crazy monk talks about. You reflect on what you've had, what you can do, what you can have, on the treasures that you didn’t notice, and finally, you get…” – Koohoor started his beloved conclusions

“No, I don’t agree with that…” – he interrupted him unconsciously

“What do you have in mind?”  - Koohoor looked at him with a stoic and intrigued expression, not mad for interrupting him

“Why do we need to say goodbye? Alright, something ends, and we are going in different directions, but it doesn’t mean that this is the end. We can think that life is hard, and we are preparing for endings and uncontrolled events, but why can’t we presume that something good will happen even in a hostile world? Maybe in the end, it all comes down to just being alive and keeping things lasting as long as we can.”

“Okay, but how can we do this in a situation like this?”

“Just remember and don’t extinguish this little flame of everything we've become and accomplished together. Remember, even if it is vastly dangerous for us – it is the participation of each one of us – to create something and leave it behind us. We're still doing something together even though we are in different places. Keep this image in your heart and mind, and it will strengthen you in hard times. And maybe one day, we will meet in better times and places – maybe even here?”

“Gross, is this love you're talking about to us and me?” – Krivian responded with a flickering spark in his eyes.

“Yeah, we love you too, little moron.” – Ru said with a prominent smile, despite a tear in the corner of her eye.

“Yeah, I like this idea” – Koohoor agreed

At that moment, behind his back, the blue gates opened.

“So, this is it… I hope you will endure in your task and achieve everything you ever wanted…” – Koohoor started saying while he looked behind to see the gates to his new life and target.

“Shut up, you sound like this is saying goodbye forever – you will tell me everything when I'm back, even if it will be after many years.” – he interrupted him once again

“Screw you, why do you always ruin moments like this?” – big warrior responded sending hearth warming smile to him

For the last time, he looked at each one of them, these special souls.

“For the Pure Purpose, for the three pillars… for you.”

“And for you.” – they responded with certainty in voice

He started walking towards the opened doors, but suddenly something grabbed his arm, and in one second, he ended up in the arms of Angel, enclosed in the cocoon of her majestic wings.

“We will miss you… and we will be waiting patiently for this meeting that you have promised.” – she smiled at him gently with sadness in her eyes.

And then he felt his other comrades joining the big hug – Krivian, Ru, Koohoor – one small family. Despite everything he said, he believed just now that he can do it, and someday he will see them again.

As he started to cross the gates, he felt only peace and a little sadness. On the other side, he looked back. All four waited, and in the last moment when the portal started to close, he heard the last quiet words – “Stay strong and don’t let this spark within you die…

…Victor.”

He woke up with a sleepy sensation of movement, experiencing a falling feeling. He looked above him, only to see Hope with her fingers pressed to his forehead, her face slowly contorting with fear as she realized he had awakened.

"Big mistake, my dear..." - he said.
