Description
So, in a deviation from my norm, I decided to get back to my roots and draw an amalgamated monster for fun, and... it kind of just took over? So this exists now. Let me know if you like it, and I may keep posting stuff like this!More of my traditional art:

Great! It looks like something Lovecraft would make up and that's awesome!

Hello! I’m here from with some constructive criticism.
First of all, your composition and technique are really interesting! Amalgamated creatures are uniquely eye-catching, and my brain always tries to make sense of all the different pieces. The bold monochrome style also gives the piece a distinctly dynamic look.
The twisting pose the creature is in gives it an “in-motion” look that makes it feel real and alive. It looks like it’s about to lash out with those giant claws. The creature’s design also feels really well thought-out. No part of it seems cluttered or like there’s too much blank space. I’d say it looks as natural as an amalgamated monster possibly can. Nice work!
I also love how you portrayed the texture of the fur on the head and the scales along the body with the shape of the lines. The lined shading on the claws (the ones it’s standing on) and the bold black shadows on the parts that are farther back look great as well!
However, the creature’s face is somewhat difficult to make out because of the way it overlaps with the body. I think you need more shading to really help it pop out more clearly. Furthermore, the stark contrast between the shadows and highlights on the upper set of claws makes them look a little flat. The black spikes on the tail have the same problem.
Also, the picture of the drawing has a few distractions. It would be better without being able to see around the edge of the page or the opposite page of the sketchbook. I don’t mean to sound nitpicky, but in my opinion, the presentation of the image is almost as important as the drawing itself.
However, all of the flaws I’ve pointed out are minor, and overall, I think this drawing looks amazing! Keep up the excellent work!

This is qute a beast, a monster. A spider like moving being, with a cyclopical capricorn/wolf-head with eagle claws!!! Very Fascinating!
Only critical point: What do the claws have to do where they are at, at this point of time, it was "captured" ?
Besides: the cropping of the document itself lacks of properness.
You shaped with strokes, varying their directions, considering their float of gravity, in order to form the beast and the beast elements. I like it enough to fav it.

Hello from ! First off, I already love monster and weird hybrid art and I'm pretty picky about it but this, this is cool. One issue I see here though is that it's hard to tell which appendage does what, (I think the arms are further away, this looks serpent-like, and may explain that... But where are the organs/hands/torso at, its all smooshed together. which is cool in some ways, maybe complicated in good way? But this is a little space for such an intricate beastie. However, the textures are great! Definitely points for that. The scales, the "hair" and spikey...clawthings which I don't have a better word for! And them eyes! Gotta love extra eyeballs. I like the writhing mass of monstrey goodness. I just wish I could make sense of all of it, if it helps to explain, I can't figure out stuff like if the closest part is spidery legs or digits of a hand-like thing. At first glance I thought it was claws on a hand. I hope I'm not nagging...and I hope you do more work like this! and if my advice is no good, toss it out! I want you to become a better artist, we all want that. I just hope maybe a tiny bit of my comment helped.

It was definitely too small a space for such a complicated design! I just couldn't help myself (>.>)"
It's meant to be serpentine in nature, so there's no clear rib cage; the limbs are meant to be between insectoid and crustacean, and the "arms" are actually tentacle-bearing rather than clawed. Altogether, the idea was to combine some elements from a wide range of species to create something totally incongruent and incomprehensible-- properly eldritch, if you would. I can understand how that backfired, given that there really isn't much room for them to stretch out and show off how that design works in this tiny sketchbook page. I definitely appreciate the input! (No promises that I'll use bigger paper though, I'm kinda lazy and hella stubborn haha)
