Personality: Bo is a charming young lad who is often alone with his friend Quan. Living isolated from civilization for most of his life, he lacks social skills and can come off as aloof to most people. He is a kind and honest boy who is also very gullible and easy target for thieves/bad people/etc. Because of his lifestyle, he can also be closed minded individual and hard to argue with. He has only ever known the sea and would like to keep it that way. In a way he is also mentally messed up because he can talk to the fish he eats. It disturbs him sometimes but he manages to ignore them with the help of Quan.

BACKSTORY

Describe their childhood (newborn - age 10): Bo was born on his family houseboat with his mother and Quan. He never knew his father, believing that he left his mother to escape the life at sea. Bo spent most of his life isolated from civilization. His mother would always get their food from the sea, and eating fish and shellfish was very common. Every few months or so they would briefly stop at a port and re-stock on supplies. Bo grew up thinking being with dragons was commonplace, but he was told by his mother that his family had a long history of guarding Quan from the outside world because of how powerful he was. For Quan had the power to grant any wish, but only one per person. And each wish granted to the person would come with consequences. Bo was enamored with Quan as a young child, but as he grew up he got use to living with the magical being.

Describe their teenage years (11 - 19): When Bo was 12 years old, he fell in love with the ocean. Being surrounded by it his whole life he has grown to love it so much, that he wanted to become one with it. So one day, when his mother was fishing for dinner, he used his one wish to become a sea creature. But because of this, he sacrificed his nose and eye. When his mother discovered this, she was completely shocked by her son’s transformation. The next time they entered port, she bought a mask, scarf and earphones for him so he would appear normal to other people.

After a few years he, his mother and Quan became adjusted to Bo’s new look. His mother taught him how to fish and catch his own meals at this point. Then one day, during a nasty storm, his mother was still fishing for food because they were short on it and nowhere near a port. She fell overboard and disappeared. It was too late for Bo to do anything until hours later when he noticed his mother to be nowhere around. He checked the deck and saw signs of her going overboard. He checked the ocean as far as he could, but couldn’t find her. He returned to his houseboat empty handed, left to care for Quan on his own. He was 14 when it happened.

Quan: A powerful dragon that has the ability to grant one person any wish they desire. But every wish comes with a price. For example, if Bo wanted to become a sea creature, he had to exchange something of equal value for these abilities, which would be a nose and an eye. He has the ability to grow into a 30ft long dragon like Dojo. He is kept a secret to the rest of the world because of how powerful he can be. He was first born in 100 B.C. in China. Quan became a target of interest over the course of his first 50 years living on earth because of his incredible wish-granting abilities. Luckily a poor family took him in and kept him hidden from the world. The poor family and their descendants had to travel from China all across the continent of Asia. In 400 A.D. the family took to the ocean and lived there ever since. Up to this day Quan still lives on the ocean with Bo.
