I've become obsessed with browsing other people's desktop to find cute icons and other ideas. So I thought I would post my current desktop.Finder & hard drive icon: "KaijubeesMac" by Melissa Scroggins [link]
Firefox: "Internet Tubes" icon, Photobooth: Camera icon, itunes: itunes headphones, all from Michael Flarup [link]
Candybar icon: [link] If you have a mac, but don't have this program, you are missing out on the oxygen of customization. It's THAT essential.
I don't remember where I got the PS, NeoOffice (word icon), or ichat icons... sorry!
My default folder system is Unified Aqua by ieub, [link]
Glass dock: Glass dock 2.1 by justcobe [link]
Wallpaper - changes hourly - all from my collection. In the shot it's Photon (II, i believe) from PHOTONS by tinkupuri [link]
If an icon/whatever is on deviantart, it's in my favorites.

Don't feel retarded.
If you have a mac, download the program Candybar.. its from a group called Panic. (Not the band)
Then, just load the collection into the program, and drag the icon you want to where you want it.
On a PC, what I would do is keep a folder of all your icons. Then, on the icons you want to change, right click the icon, click properties, and then there might be a place to change the icon. I know some don't.

I used to mod my mac a lot but now it's too slow for that...
anyway, your desktop is really quite nice and certainly one of the more interesting at dA.
Have you considered using Shapeshifter and Silk?
And please keep on posting your desktop looks.
