This is really interesting, such an original idea! I wonder, if they have sex, will there be any weird ramifications since they're sorta one person split into two? I imagine that the magic would've found a way to make their genetics different to avoid any incest.

They are genetically different people. Ian is genetically similar to their original unified form. Juli is more diverse and changed due to the intended wish.

They are both different people and both different compilation of traits, and still both Julian. Ian is a bit more Julian but with a slightly different personality, a bit more shy. Juli is very forward, a bit more "horny on main", and VERY femme.
