"More for me to process my emotions and channel my isolation stress. Is this a comic about being stood up? If you process it that way. Is it about waiting for someone, anybody to sit next to them. Most assuredly. Being Alone stinks, but it's okay. It'll be okay.Sometimes you just have to yell, scream, and cry. It's going to be okay.

its ok to get mad at the universe if youre NOT ok, too... when Camus wrote “we must imagine Sisyphus happy” he didn’t exactly mean happy about his situation... pushing a boulder up a hill forever with no way to escape is a really bad situation... but if Sisyphus accepts that this really isn’t his fault anymore, and that he DOESN’T have any way of escaping his situation, then he knows exactly where to target his anger, his scorn, his hatred.... at the absurdity and ludicrousness of his fate!
the universe is being objectively unfair to him, as it might be to others, but definitely to him. he is ALLOWED to hate the unfairness and lack of meritocracy in a universe with no magic or souls. his rage is so, so justified. this knowledge, that he is doing the best he could possibly do, and his suffering is mostly the universe’s fault because of luck and chance and necessary-neglect and scarcity, allows him to be happy. we must allow sisyphus to be happy, because somewhere along an infinity of pushing a boulder up a hill, he will realize he is, in empirical fact, the hero against a villainous universe, an evil reality. he is The Good Guy and the entire world is wrong to say otherwise.
our lives are so much more complicated and full of red herrings, and so much shorter than infinity.... most of us suffer too chaotically to have enough time to realize that our lack of rocksolid self esteem is the work of a chaotic meaningless universe that lacks the compassion it obviously should have for us and other living things. that is why we must look to Sisyphus, who’s fate is more obviously just a pointless, ridiculous, mockable torture than our own, and realize that our tortures are just sneakier, preventing our happiness from being entirely internal, convincing us that happiness comes from outside, in our external circumstance, by giving us pleasures and gifts inbetween the horrific pains... even this is not our fault.
this is perhaps least our fault of all. we are not smart enough to see all of reality at once, but please be assured that it is all silly pointless nonsense. you are not selfish to take what you want inbetween that garbage. you are allowed to be happy, i promise. the universe doesnt care either way, but we other lifeforms benefit from your happiness. please be selfish, be happy. for us. we are all alone together in this sad cage of atoms & galaxies. please indulge yourself in guilty pleasures against the callous spikes and blades of this world, so we dont feel shame doing the same, alongside you, against our shared enemy, the limitations of reality.

i guess what im saying is pls pls please do more stuff like making ventcomics or i dunno eating black forest cake while watching crappy anime because this is awesome
pls dont allow yourself to feel guilty doing so because while we dont all share the same pains, we all share the feeling of pain itself and while your other work is perhaps more easily appreciated by the demographic youve already built, this kind of thing is very helpful validation for us... we see this and go “awwwww notzackforwork is a human being???? that means all the amazing work she does is made using human limitations? that makes it even more impressive.... aww how relatable of COURSE she feels overwhelmed & lonely sometimes.... anyone would in her situation, doing such a difficult, tedious but rewarding job....”
