Secret Origins: Formerly a high-ranking agent for ARGUS, Anthony ''Tony'' Masters was born a prodigious savant of mnemonic talents. Anthony learned of his abilitties as a very young child while watching a cowboy television program after trying to do a rope trick performed in it, showing that not only he was able to actually do it but mimic it perfectly.
Through most of his youth and adolescense, he employed his talent several times mostly for professional gain, most notably when he became a star quarterback of his high school football team after watching one pro football game. However, it was due to Tony's ''photographic memory'' that he would recruited and trained by ARGUS and it's then Director, Nicholas Fury Jr, as a part of the organization's ''Training Program''.
Tony was trained on how to perfect his ability and turned into an Agent, eventually taking on the moniker of ''Grant Ward'' as to distance his previous life to his current one as a member of ARGUS.
Copycat: However, ''Grant's'' current life seemed to not give him the same excitement it gave to him before, time and time again acting on his own accord for his own motives up until eventually, Grant left ARGUS for a gig as a Mercenary and Gun for Hire, taking upon a new identity, Taskmaster.
One of Grant's first client was the underground crime organization, LOCUS and it's head scientist, Prof. Ivo. LOCUS' mission was simple, they'd give Grant an experimental suit and a drone camera, alongside the actual pay, and he'd go ahead and fight the then-new Justice League while he was being recorded by the drone.
Taskmaster failed, but despite this, was allowed to keep the suit and was payed, however, Grant would later learn that the costume's mask was actually analyzing his brain patterns, the same patterns that would be later be used, alongside the information gattered by the drone, to create the super-android known as AMAZO.
Task Force XI: For years, Taskmaster would go on as a mercenary, even at one point creating a sort-of alternative to ARGUS called SPYRAL. Eventually, Grant would be hired to work once again for ARGUS, or as it was now known, HAMMER, by it's current director, Lex Luthor.
Lex hired Taskmaster to become a part of his new version of Task Force X alongside Slade Wilson, Caitlin Drake, Yelena Belova, Thaddeus Ross, Chuck Brown and the Winter Soldier, forming up Task Force XI, the new Suicide Squad.
Their job: Killing the last Suicide Squad and Amanda Waller, who've have recently gone rogue.
