EDIT 5 (01/May/2016) : As luck would have it, a few days ago, someone contacted me and told me he had a way to convert the ancient files of this server (whose name was 'Nevermind', really.), into something recent and workable.
So, thanks to the great work of ' , I can now offer you the chance to *PLAY* (Single Player) on this small piece of Minecraft History :
Note that the download link is of '4shared.com' :
www.4shared.com/rar/eK6kW-_lba…
Alternative download :
mega.nz/#!0Y8TRBgT!yePRxo-J6AC…
The person who did the conversion, Mattbrox, also made a Reddit post, for those who want to check it : www.reddit.com/user/MattBrox
A Youtuber, named 'Logdotzip', made a video showing the map a bit and talking about some of the differences between Minecraft 2009 and Minecraft today : www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sKXWT…

Old description below :
***************************************************************************
Since some times ago, I started to really play a LOT on Minecraft (Creative-Classic) Multiplayer Servers...
2 Weeks ago, I found this server (that I will not name to attract pesky Griefers)... and since then, I'm an OP of this Server...
EDIT : Since January-February 2010, we changed for a new, fresh, homemade map... but I still have a copy of this great map.
*Super Special EDIT !* (20/01/11) : Seems like my screenshot was used on this website, Kotaku... Sure, I don't see my name or even some credit to the original picture or a link to here, but still... It's kinda cool
Kotaku : kotaku.com/5633629/minecraft-c…
*SS-EDIT #2* : Seems like ''The Escapist'' also used the screenshot
Escapistmagazine : www.escapistmagazine.com/video…
*EDIT #3* (01/06/13) : www.acapitalwasteland.com/2011…
If *ANYONE* has a screenshot/scan of the page, in the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer's Edition (year?), where this picture is shown... that would be wonderful.
*EDIT #4* : Well, I finally have it. I hunted down the right 'year' for the book. I finally was able to buy the book at a bookstore(had to ask them to order it for me), and I found the page.
Guinness World Records 2012 : Gamer's Edition : Lower-left corner of Page 98.
--------------------
This is the screenshot of the map I took the August 6, 2009.
(I used a ''Fly hack'' to be able to take a good screenshot of the whole map)

A true look into the creativity caused by the limits of Classic Minecraft.

Yeeeah... I'm not sure how it even came to be that many myself.
I can only suppose the page is somehow connected/linked elsewhere and it ''gets views'' that way too. Or something.

That's the fullmap, back when it was originally created and worked on, before it was later slightly expanded (with some old, more-or-less stable program).
The file was converted to ''modern minecraft standards'' by Logdotzip, with authorization, and is free to be *downloaded* and *played on*.

I also remember my very first ''Classic-creative'' single player map... The only of my single player maps that I was never able to ''update'' to the Infdev, and thus I absolutely lost, back in the old days.
Oddly enough, I have a few videos of that one on my personal Youtube account.

Well, for one, this is a map, not a mod.
Also, *I* personally set the '4shared' link, and downloaded from the 'Mega.nz' link.
And, I loaded the map on Minecraft to check it too... Nostalgia. To remember things.
Everything is good.

Hi Nova, you said you still have the file for this map but can't convert it. Could you upload that file somewhere for me? I'll be able to convert it to the recent Minecraft format and can send it back to you. I really want to look around this place

I don't want to be insulting, but...
Dear GODS ?! Why would you choose a name like that ?
On another hand... pretty sure it's not exactly ''agreeable'' for DeviantArt to 'advertise' potentially suspicious websites.

« An ancient multiplayer server for Creative/Classic in the 'alpha' era of Minecraft.

-----
But, scratch the ''private'' part now... the second admin decided to turn the ''our'' new Survival Minecraft(recent update) into a ''public'' thing, and associate himself with another server that had problems... and shared the same name as us(by some weird coincidence).
Personally, I'm not too happy about the sudden (and being my back ) change, but whatever now...
I suppose that if people want to join, they would have to send me a 'private message' on DA.

A very old multiplayer *Creative* server, back in the good 'ol days...
I still have the '' server_level.dat '' file, but I don't know (or could find) any program that could convert an old *.dat file into a modern 'Survival' map.
Found one for old *.mclevel and *.mine files, though.
But, none for *.dat files.

We... have a new server, for the (updated) Survival mode (with bukkit).
We are kinda filtering ''admissions'' as, sadly, 12-years old people are quite common on Minecraft... -_-

I will answer, minus the excessive capital letters and dots.
As the information in the 'description' can (partially) tell you... This was a LONG time ago, back when even the 'creative mode' was still relatively young, on the course of a few months(at least 2-3) and with a good number of people from various places.
This *specific* map is long dead (since Notch almost literally spitted on the Classic mode in those days, with NO form of support whatsoever and a lazy-rich attitude *mumble-grumble*, because he had created the new 'Survival mode' and those on Creative could be damned for all he cared)... but! we adapted (kinda forced really...) and a new series of 'Survival' maps were made, progressively abandoned, then recreated, etc...
And, now these days, we have a Multiplayer Survival server using 'Bukkit'. It's much more calm, than in the 'ol days, but we still see some people.
If you sent a 'PM', I could *maybe* send you the ''address'', if you are really interested
