EDIT 5 (01/May/2016) : As luck would have it, a few days ago, someone contacted me and told me he had a way to convert the ancient files of this server (whose name was 'Nevermind', really.), into something recent and workable.
So, thanks to the great work of ' , I can now offer you the chance to *PLAY* (Single Player) on this small piece of Minecraft History :

Since some times ago, I started to really play a LOT on Minecraft (Creative-Classic) Multiplayer Servers...
2 Weeks ago, I found this server (that I will not name to attract pesky Griefers)... and since then, I'm an OP of this Server...
EDIT : Since January-February 2010, we changed for a new, fresh, homemade map... but I still have a copy of this great map.
*Super Special EDIT !* (20/01/11) : Seems like my screenshot was used on this website, Kotaku... Sure, I don't see my name or even some credit to the original picture or a link to here, but still... It's kinda cool

*EDIT #4* : Well, I finally have it. I hunted down the right 'year' for the book. I finally was able to buy the book at a bookstore(had to ask them to order it for me), and I found the page.

The server still exist... this map doesn't (though I still have a copy of it somewhere. The new SMP doesn't allow the convertion of old Creative maps, sadly. Notch is also 0% for anything support-related.).
The new *Minecraft 1, SMP* map we have is, kinda, private now... 120% safe and secure. In the years, it more or less became a server for friends, and a handful of people we WELL knew. Sorry.

Back in the days... Yes, yes it was.
After all, it's dated from 2009. It lasted (from mid 2009) to a good part of 2010, before we went to the ''new''(in that time) Survival Multiplayer.

Hey, i'm real curious to check your smp server and seeing as 1.8.1 was recently released i think now is a good time, pm me the address with info and junk, for example mods, rules etc... and maybe seeing as you can let people go creative in smp and vice versa we could make a large creation some time <3
About the picture, i love how people in the classic all try to get there own little space and it becomes such a cluster**** so fast hehe
NOTE: it would be cool if when they update the mob arena that we get it on the server because i think its so fun with prizes for certain rounds and teaming up on stuff and i for one have a nice mob arena blueprint nearly complete, 3 stories high!

Also, 'our' server is currently down, because the guy hosting it is really busy for a week or so, and because of the 1.8 update.

I'm very well known on MC but not so much other places, i was among the first 100 players in the classic(not sure exactly). anyways when your servers up make sure to tell me and/or skype me or maybe you have a vent/teamspeak server?
p.s i play alot of xbox, and maybe runescape private servers if that helps.

Yes, the old legends were true... Once upon a time, there was close-worlds and only about 20-30 different blocks, that is even counting the colors !
Ooooohhh, the old times. Did you knew we could place and remove blocks infinitly and instantly only by clicking, back in the day.
The old Minecraft. (which Notch pretty quickly spit on and forgot in a dusty-rusty corner... yeah... Not every aspects of Notch are nice.)

But I must say that it was back in the Creative-Multiplayer days, but still, some of the buildings are indeed impressive, all things considered.

I should really start posting pictures of my SMP server... The people in it, LITERALLY made whole kingdoms, and we even have ''trade'' systems going on
My Kingdom is a desertic (desert-type, sand/cobblestone/Spires and towers) and mysterious one... Relatively close to strangers and quite a bit on the Militaristic side

All this was done, in this old Classic/Creative Multiplayer map, over the time of 3-4 Months, with the help of a few Regulars and a few other ''thrustworthy'' people...
I was the main Security OP of the map, back in those days, and I can tell you that it was one heck of a job to keep the place together (not that more than a few griefers were ever able to pass my various security measures...), since there was a good bit of people sometimes in the map.
Now these days... it's a SMP (Survival Multiplayer map) that I mostly play in... with other trusted people and the same Admin
