I remember seeing that on the show! The first couple times I wasn't sure what I saw was what I saw but nope! Tsunamis apparently retreat when Unicron is defeated.

Science already kind of died when that concrete hardened on Airachnid that fast... And logic died during that two min long touching moment between Arcee and Jack (with Airachnid standing RIGHT THERE) that ended with Arcee yelling at Jack that Airachnid hunted humans so RUN!

Unicron could not devour the planet, so he devoured science instead, truly he is the greatest of monsters.
Raf will weep for his loss for many moons, and Jack will yet again wonder why did he turn out to be the normal one in his group of friends.

No, Unicron did not kill Science, he merely put the onus upon Science to come up with a reasonable technological simile of whatever effect was utilized to avert horrible tsunami death.
In short: Science never dies. At most, it stands there for a while, baffled, before going to work to find out -how- this worked.
After all, acceptance without questioning is the purview of religion, whereas Science exists to explain that which seems to be inexplicable.
