Description
Revisited the older map and revamped it ^^ it's been long-deserved after things have been picking up. There's a lot of artists out there and it was a bit difficult to put in a few, but I'll list them as honorable mentions after the ones I have featured.booota - The funniest thing about this artist is that I first was introduced to her works through an impersonator here on dA. I seeked her out after I learned about it and stuck around since. Her results are my biggest drive when it comes to pretty much everything xD
Ama Mitsuki - If you haven't seen his work yet, he is the god of foreshortening. I refined a lot of my anatomy thanks to his collections of Kancolle girls drawn in sharp and unique perspectives. Do you all have trouble with hips? butts? Look no further.
Komone Ushio - They were a huge inspiration for my shading a year ago, and they're not as prominent now..but I always find myself checking back on their art every so often and it feels refreshing. Their style is really appealing to me as well ^^
Tiv - Another funny story. I discovered Tiv's original work AND started reading Masamune-kun no Revenge in separate instances in the same day without connecting the idea that the two were the same artist. Absolutely love their lighting, and they always seem to have a new and different hairstyle whenever they draw a girl. The way they make the characters flow in their pictures is amazing!
Moorina - Loved her coloring from the getgo, and I always look forward to seeing more of her work ^^ it's helped me understand colors more in-depth and play with them more. Her pics with groups/couples are really cute as well. The way she draws faces just feels so cheerful, and that's what I want to convey through my own work. I feel that my coloring right now is inspired by her as much as it is by booota.
PJYNico - 95% of where I get my inspirations for backgrounds. Their works are animation-worthy, and seeing how quickly they improved leaves me with a reminder of just how far I (or any of us I hope) can go with art in such a short time.
Shigure Ui - Their stark coloring and how boldly they draw certain parts is really inspiring. No lie though, I initially just grabbed the way they do the highlight on the nose and went off, but their work sucked me back in the past 2 weeks x'D
Morikura En - Sexy girls? All my yes. The way they color is similar to booota's with its own twist; their characters feel more mature and their expressions are more forward. The nuances in their expressions, the way they color lips, the flow in their drawings.. /o/
Hitsukuya - I've watched hitsu since I became active on dA, and it's awesome to see where her art is now. Her style is really appealing (especially how she does eyes) and it's interesting in how she colors it every time she draws; looking back at her work reminds me to change things up a little bit and try something new or a little different. As for the simplifying part....still working on that //sweats
hieihirai - I love her work in how it's always full of bright and saturated colors. The way she colors is just beautiful hnnnnn and all the attention to details!
Sukja - I love the way they color and use a messy line brush for their lineart, it makes their work seem like it was done in pencil before anything else. Their style in general is really appealing, but their compositions were always fascination xD
Honorable mentions go to those who are still fairly prominent:
Atsumi Jun (their works are so cute and I've looked back on them several times for those bright colors)
Anmi (some of my shading and painterly style was directly inspired by them)
Kuroda BB (their manga was really adorable, and I love the colors they use in their covers and finished works)
Banpai Akira (not as prominent as he used to be, but I love how he paints his characters in their tone, and some of my initial painting was learned from him)
Hyanna-Natsu (I cannot not mention you x) you were one of my first inspirations on dA, and you helped me a lot with learning to enjoy my art and to remember that there's no limits in many aspects of it. I'm glad we became great friends, and I look forward to seeing how far you'll grow in the upcoming years~ GOB JOB)
NoShio (SAME WITH YOU IMOUTO. We veered away in styles but I love watching how your art evolves, and I look forward to seeing where it goes~ I still use the lead brush you shared with me LOL here's to an upcoming good year /o/)
I hope you all enjoyed reading this ^^ subject to change in 2 years... //sweats BUT WHO KNOWS

It is somehow interesting to see that you focus more in learning anatomy/techniques over coloring o3o
Your style has been developing very well and I can see the influences there!
My pleasure to help you as well, you know it ;3

Now that you mention it, you have a point...I notice that when most people want to improve in drawing, their top focuses are coloring and style over other things, especially with kawaii art styles lol
I'm pretty surprised myself at my own improvement x) I feel like it can only keep going up from here~ /o/ I know you do C; otherwise you'd crush me under a pot of mashed potatoes LOL >A>

Yup~
It's more like people tend to focus on the fun part //I can talk by myself
but you are doing very correct on learning anatomy first!
LMAO
I'm glad you know it ;D

Haha I wanted to get better faster xD so I guess it helped. But we both came down to the same results in the end! And having fun wasn't a bad thing either! lol if anything, I feel like it builds up most of your motivation to draw, since it can be pretty stressful if you're focusing on getting things "right" xD
Yes. I will hide in this empty turtle shell. So I won't get boiled by the hot mashed potatoes lmao
