Description Flywheels Color WIP

This humble Duocon is simply my guinea pig. As many of you know I would like to be able to color my own work. Others have colored my art and I love it but I want to learn. This is my first attempt to do so.

I welcome tips, critiques, and advice from all of you. This pic willl continually change as I learn and experiment. I have no photoshop but only MS Paint at this point. Very basic and rudimentary but it will have to do for now.

Btw, there is a program called Blender. It is like photoshop and for free.

a very civilised 'flywheels pic' for you mate. i like it.
so you found a way clean-up the white bits ready for the 'fill colour'. that's good

I scanned it as a B&W BITMAP so it wouldnt register the light smudges and dirt (theory anyway), then saved it as a Color BITMAP. It worked.

I don't know what paint can do. But if you have the chance to grab some advanced program - use it.
Otherwise it is a good start. You have now the basic colors. You could add a highlight color by doing a small line at the brightest places.

It's all learning by doing. Just make a copy and try.

Some green dude once said, "Do or do not. THere is no try."

Don't think so. If I can undo my faults by simply having a copy why not start over and make better.
Ok, wouldn't work with nature I guess.
