is this colored with pastels? I always have so much trouble when working with pastels.

Actually I used Prismacolor colored pencils but used a burnishing effect (you take the white colored pencil and pressing down with medium pressure color over the normal colors with the white) it creates a much softer tone like pastels without the mess and inaccuracy of using actual pastels.
