Description
For the TLKFAA contest 'Kiara, oh Kiara'.Zira had just led a pride of lionesses to attack Simba's pride, and when that plan failed had launced an attack on her father, yet Kiara still found it in her heart to try and help Zira to safety.

In the end I think that Zira had let go of the ledge, it just always made sense. I mean what did she have to live for anymore? Both her mate and eldest son were dead, her daughter and adoptive son had betrayed in order to join sides with her enemy. Her attack on Simba and his pride failed as well. I can see where she probably thought, she had nothing worth living for anymore. Kinda sad...

That's ACTUALLY what happened, man! In a deleted scene, Zira looked up at Kiara and said:
"No... never!"
And let go of the edge, but Disney cut it because it was too dark. Suicide's not a great subject.

I honestly feel sorry for Zir. She lost everything, first her husbend, then her home, then her oldest son, and finally her entire pride, including her remaining two children. It's no suprise she went insane after that.

"Zira, give me your paw!" Zira looked down at the rapid, broken river below. The waves would make for a sudden death, but she looked up at the traitor's daughter. "I'll help you."
Zira's wretched face twisted into a sick smile as she slowly shook her head. "No." She whispered eerily. Kiara slightly retracted her helping paw. Was she really going to refuse help? "Never." Kiara gasped as Zira brought in her claws from the cliff and she fell into the craggy waters below, never to be seen again.
THAT was the deleted scene from the Lion King two.. I hate how it was cut from the movie.

The way you put that scene it seems Zira chose death rather than defeat, which fits with my personal theory that Zira had been Scar's unseen "disciple" during the events of the first movie and eventually married him when he took over. She chose death because she didn't want to admit she had built her life (and her family) on lies. Which is where the real tragedy of that movie is.
