Description Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, FL.

This one may not have the best quality but it was shot through glass inside a building.

Alligator snapping turtles have a lure on their tongue that resembles a worm which they use to attract prey right into their jaws.

This is the largest freshwater turtle in North America, reaching 31 inches and up to 250 lbs.

Yea the whole reptile area was dark except for their actual tanks, and then trying to take pictures through glass :\ I wish the photo was better quality!

Snapping turtles are amazing; they live all around where I am and I love them (from a distance!)... did you know they can be super fast when provoked?

respect the snappies!

I don't know a whole lot about them, but I wouldn't want to run into one out in the wild, I'm sure they have that name for a reason!

they do! I've met a few and the best thing is to keep your distance; they won't go out of their way to bother you IF you don't bother them.

the converter says one pound is almost half a kilo so full grown would be 114 kilos
