This picture looks sooooooo great, like a moment in a movie scene oder like a book cover!! And it represents my wish in my childhood... To be a Native American headman. Because when I was a child, I loved the native americans, I loved thier spiritual affinity with animals and the nature.Β
But when I voiced my wish "I would like to be a native american headman" people said to me that only men could be that. And this was SO REALLY UNFAIR I thought. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean that I couldn't also be a leader. Because when I was a child, I also want to be a leader (But a good, fair and brave leader of course).Β

But this painting isn't amazing just because of that; The pose, the effects and theΒ perspective have a great overall effect. Great!Β

That's racist you know. Not every NA is going to be glorious dark tan that you think we should all be.Β
My grandmother is NA but she's really pale skinned, but her facial structure is clearly NA. She may look too pale to you but she looks normal to me, just because us NAs are pale does not invalidate us!Β

I'm NA and I am completely fine with it because we don't get enough representation as it is. What make it "cultural appropriation"? is her skin not dark enough for you because I can tell you that a lot of NAs (depending on the tribe) can be white passing because not everyone has the nice chestnut tanned look you think we all have.Β

We can also be white skinnedΒ too, because we have pale skin tones common with a lot of tribes especially in the modern age where we're not outside in the sun all the time because we're normal human beings!
Also please don't use that racist term, we would like to be acknowledged as NAs, not "people of color" because not only is it just a different word order of a racist term used by whites in the 1950s and it's not empowering when you use it for every nonwhite person, its demeaning and it shows you only care about our skin color and not our culture.Β
Dial back your racism, not everyone is as dark skinned as you think we are

Saying people of color is the same things as saying colored people, which has been deemed racist over the years. It's weird how people think one way is racist and the other is not for saying the exact same thing!
Second, everyone has a color, except for translucent people if they exist. I think Vanya-Ninque pointed that out sufficiently and its a silly thing to call a minority group.
Thirdly, going back in time, I wager everyone's ancestors were slaves at some point. Also, American Indians enslaved one another before the Europeans arrived.

Oh, I get it. I see your point, I just don't like it when people don't take our history seriously or use it properly, the things they teach us in history class aren't true. Like for example, they said Christopher Columbus found America even though Native Americans found it first, then they enslaved them, it's a shame my ancestors were slaves.

Since north america is so varied in latitude there are many different natives with varying skin colors one of my friends is white enough to glow in the dark but shes just native from further north. the opposite is true the lower down you go. Β
