We set the clocks forward this weekend, close enough to the start of spring. ^_^ Nah, I'm just getting a bit of a jumpstart on this one, and we've had such an alarmingly mild winter here this year that really, what the hell. Let's move on to spring.

So I'm just having fun doing these. I actually used to do this all the time where I'd take one body and add different clothes or a new setting to make alternate versions. So this is continuing with what I began with Summer Mascot Revisited and Winter Mascot Revisited , which itself was a redo of something I used to do way back when I had an angelfire page before I got my account here.

While the last two were based full remakes with the same outfits and settings, this is a totally new one. I did a spring version all those years ago but she was dressed differently and it was sunny out-- but I'm thinking of still redoing that one is well, maybe in late spring, around May when the the really pretty part of spring comes. This is more the rainy part of spring.

So our girl is laying on the ground, in the pouring rain, wearing a waterproof bathing suit made of raincoat material. . . as you do. Look, don't question the realism. I did something similar before , and that also had a lapse in logic: what good was the raincoat if she wore it wide open like that? Look, the point is the show the cute girl in the cute bathing suit while sticking with a spring rain theme. So CRAM IT! ^_^

The real challenge was to not make it look too bleak and severe. I accomplished that a couple ways. Firstly, I added cute baby ducks in the foreground, which was always my intent. Secondly, I redid the rain effect, it's a pretty simple process, but I redid it to make it less intense. I also recolored the grass, it was more of a brownish-green, but I made it more vibrant. Finally, I added a little more splash of color-- I changed her boots from yellow to purple. I found it balanced things out and matched the lightning which goes back to something my high school art teacher used to say: never use a color just once.
