Here's a brand new reference for my OC, Senna, as a Super Mario Princess! Behind her is the emblem for her kingdom of the cumulative Awazon Islands--a kingdom she designed herself and helped to build. The emblem is actually the insignia of the mutant tribal Shy Guys (Tribal Guys) who spared her life in return for her design and construction of the kingdom. (B

The Mushroom Kingdom is a very cheerful and colorful place to be, but what about the rest of the Mushroom World? What of the forgotten lands that have long since abandoned decades ago? Inspired chiefly by Mario's NES and SNES era, Senna's story, Subconscious, is an darker action/adventure story that takes place somewhere beyond the Mushroom Kingdom on the desolate, remote Awazon Islands and Senna's own mind--Her subconscious, if you will. I hope that you'll enjoy my take on Mario's world in Senna's journey to find her way back home to San Francisco.

Senna is a friendly, outgoing person who loves to wisecrack and dissect conversation analytically with others. She places a priority on finding and having fun in life and discovering new and exciting things. Although friendly, she isn’t very gentle, and can be occasionally offensive without being aware of it. She is not a sensitive person and will not spare others’ feelings if she needs to tell him/her the truth. Because she is not sensitive, she is incredibly hard to offend or make angry. This is because she dislikes feeling too much emotion and prefers to keep things happy and light.

She loves nothing more than to debate with others, and finds arguing for sport incredibly fun, especially when it comes to Science and Art. As a secondary drive, she desires tranquility, comfort, and occasionally likes to be recognized for her accomplishments. She can be a bit fleeting and scatterbrained, though, and doesn’t often finish what she starts.

- Bio -
Ms. Saniya "Senna" Upadhyay is a newly hired Engineer living in a one bedroom apartment in San Francisco, California. It wasn't but half a year ago that she'd completed her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and she was hot and ready to get out of her parents' house in Carson City and start making some real money. However, these plans start to go awry when she discovers a filthy warp pipe hidden behind a flimsy, bathroom tile wall which leads her to the Mushroom World where she makes a hasty escape from Bowser and Larry in the former's Clown Ship.

After 15 hours of flying, she finally lands on a lush, deserted island where she makes her way to a temple and runs into some mortal trouble with some Mask Guys (Wario Land: Virtual Boy). Just before she is severely injured, she is rescued by the Mask Guys' nemeses, a tribe of humanoid Shy Guys who take her back to their village and present her with an ultimatum: "Prove yourself, or die." In her nervous haste, she presents to them her best skill--designing and managing civil architecture. She offers her services in leading a project in building them a kingdom, to which the Shy Guy Chief, Muuhe, agrees.

With the help of a whole colony of Bowser's former henchmen--failed science experiments who were left to die on the island-- including that of Shy Guys Chief, Muuhe and his Commander and Champion, Guiek, their island swiftly becomes a kingdom that is continuously expanding. Pleased with her work, the Chief--now the King--royally appoints her as Princess of the Awazon, and thus, her adventure truly begins...

General Clothing: White tank top, dark brown leggings, and black boots. As a Princess, these clothes were tailored into a dress for her with a brown bolero and petticoat. She also wears a black brace glove that covers her hands and forearms.

Jewelry: Senna does have a crown made of decorated ivory spikes with gold nuggets embedded in them, but she only wears it for ceremonies. She prefers to just wear her amulet to signify her royalty, as wearing a crown can easily fall off while on exploration campaigns and/or in battle. The amulet is a golden spiral with a gem in the middle that contains a swirl of rich purple, pink, and golden colors. It is called “The Amber Eye”.

Accessories: She is sometimes seen carrying around a sack with political documents or her artwork.

Armor: When going into battle directly, she wears a skirt made of ivory spikes around her waist and a gold-plated chestplate as armor.

Weapons: Fire flower, whatever happens to be available to or provided for her at the time.

General Tools: Senna utilizes her surroundings when constructing her kingdom. She uses natural materials such as clay, shells or rocks and a synthetic hardener to create cement, for instance. She great enjoys the challenge of using the materials in Mario’s world to create new elements—thus creating new materials or weapons.

Talents: Engineering: Advanced knowledge of mathematics (Calculus II + Advanced topics), Science (Natural + Physics), Architecture: exceptional drafting ability with structural/architectural design knowledge, can write computer programming, generally quick-minded, sharp and concise speech.

Combat Skills: Err, none that will save her life. Her strength lies in being a nerd, but she can dodge danger pretty nimbly!

In mid 2013, Senna began her life as a cheeky and sexy blonde named “Sienna” created to be a love interest for Bowser in a very early version of my fan fiction, but one thought led to other, and now she’s nothing like her original creation... and neither is the story!

Senna's behavior is both a little masculine and feminine. She really loves to tinker with electronics and get dirty in the process, as well as to wear makeup and dress up when she feels like it. She's very laid back about how she looks, so she can be sloppy when she does her makeup and hair. Also, much to her mother's chagrin, she's only mildly conscious of color choice and likes to wear bright colors that tends to hurt people's eyes. She dresses up for fun and what makes her happy rather than to look appropriate.

Senna was originally a Brazillian woman with the surname “Figueiredo”, but I later changed her ethnicity from Latina to Indian because of the coincidence of a Brazilian woman governing an “Awazon/Amazon” tribe, and because of the racer Ayrton Senna, who was Brazilian.

I made Senna an Architect and an Engineer because Mario is a Carpenter and a Plumber. I wanted her existence to mirror and tribute his early occupations. She carries with her both an essence of Mario and Peach—one as a big city blue-collar worker and the other, of course, a Princess.
