well, the middle part of this pic is directly from the book, the other marine rocks and corals are from another picture.

I have to agree with you about the corals. Looking back into the book, i realise that the corals near the surface are much shorter than the ones deeper in the sea. and the vegetations in the middle of the picture, they're not kelps i'm sure..(..i dont know its name=.=") They seem to have a cylindrical shape in the book but who knows.. i might be wrong too.

nyaa.. Thank you for pointing out these mistakes!

Is this with a direct reference from a real picture?

Because I think your corals are too high-rising and long. Corals have the tendency to crumple closely to each other rather than branching too far out(referring the corals on the left part). Even if they did, bigger fish sometimes can knock a part of it down.

And I don't think there's any underwater vegetation other than the likes of kelp that can grow as long as the one you did in the middle of the picture. And kelp have splitting leaves like any other herbaceous plants. Except they have enough buoyancy to float in water. And the small plant at the right side looks like ferns, which is a terrestrial plant.

Well, don't take my word too seriously since I might be wrong, and my marine biology has been long left rust and dull.

Still, the smoothness of the mermaid and the lighting from the surface of the sea is admirable.
