Description
First, a little context...On May 10, Y!Gallery, a yaoi-themed art archive, due to the flood of furry artists who refused to use the 'anthro' tag, placed a temp ban on new anthro art until they can find a solution. But if you look at the reaction of many of the furry artists, you'd think that the Y! admins kicked thier doors in and took thier families to concentation camps. They screeched, whined, left in droves, and even planned to somehow 'attack' Y! in retaliation.

Thing is, this kind of drama is nothing new in furry interaction. There are those that, when things turn even *slightly* bad, scream 'fursecution', invoke Godwin's Law, and play the Martyr Card. And they wonder why furries are the laughingstock of teh web.
A quickie mouse job, will eventually get scrapped if nothing happens to it.

I heard that they did kick out all the furry artists, saying that they had already had enough galleries.
However, I imagine that this is more accurate... seriously, I use the anthro tag whenever possible on DA, and alternate between fanart (if it's of a, well, videogame or anime character) and misc (if it's my own characters). And if it doesn't have anthros, then I put it in something that isn't anthro.
Being a scalie (think furry, only without the fur and with scales instead), I must admit that this does touch a sore spot. But, you do have a point... furries do tend to pull out the fursecution card rather quickly... just like fundamentalists pull out the persecution card as quickly as well (I know I'm gonna get hatemail for that)

I have it for all animals, and most people, if not all.
Furries on the other hand, are stuck somewhere inbeetween, something I hate. Sadly, I don't even see them as people. I see them as abominations, though I know I shouldn't. Some people are just too stupid to care about, and furries are a fandom that I consider to be so.

Second of all, I don't have much of a love for fursuits, either.
Third of all, not all furries are perverted. I am not an example of this, but there are examples out there.
Also, I had no idea that's what you were judging furries by. So many people judge them just based on CSI and MTV. I apologize for the mistake there.
But, you are judging the entire fandom based on the few you meet. That is called prejudice, and is not a good thing. This is the problem I'm having with you right now. Really, we're not that different from the "norm" (is there such a thing?), but we just have a different love: anthropomorphic animals. I do not pretend I am a furry in real life, but on the internet, where men are men, women are men, and children are FBI agents, I can be anything I want to be.
I don't mind you hating furries, but I'd rather it be for a decent reason, rather than prejudice.

They don't care about how many artists are posting on the site. 
dA is a general art community, whereas y! was meant to house yaoi-themed art in human-based form, not animal-based. They allowed furs because, hey, why not, but then they grew out of hand and began to become the majority while the people who were drawing what the site was originally intended for became the minority. y! didn't think this was right, so they went and did something about it.

Thing is, these furry artists seem to think that they were the only ones holding up Y!, and it will die without them. I don't think that they are that important.
