I'm currently working on Samus Aran from Metroid series. This is just a sketch.

I proceeded in very unorthodox way in comparison to what I usually do.When I started sketching, I thought that this would be really difficult to draw. I felt I wouldn't be able to get the lines in right places. I started drawing individual body parts as solid fills instead, each on their own layer. I could adjust the placement and rotation of each part, so I got a lot more freedom compared to lines. It felt more like sculpting than drawing. I added the lines later.

I put a bit more effort into this than on my typical sketch because I wanted to experiment this approach. Surely this is a bit crude, but I feel there is a lot of potential in this method considering that I got this done in around 3 hours or so. I plan to make the refined version with my usual method, just to see how it compares to this quick rendition.

There will be interesting times in the future... until next time.
