Sorry I haven't put anything up recently. I'm actually in the middle of about 8 ponies that I'm working on simultaneously instead of one at a time. I've had this Gala Dash finished for about two weeks or so, but I took it to my friend's house for safe keeping until BronyCon (safe from my cat that is) and forgot to get pictures.Also now that Picnik is gone, I don't know how to make photo collages because I don't have photo shop. Any suggestions?
Anyways. This might be my favorite custom so far - I just really like how she came out. I'm least happy with the laurels and next time I'll probably try something different. Also, I decided to do her eyes this way because of the reference picture I used. There will be a picture from the front up soon.

Well I actually had a challenge with the eyes. In the reference picture they were her "intense/angry" eyes and I ended up deciding to go with those instead of normal eyes. Not sure if I made the right decision or not. Its hard to get the right expression without modding the mouth. =/

You got it right~ It reflects Dash's personality. Making those eyes was better than the normal, wide open ones since those make her look too innocent. I thought there would be a reason like "she hates the dress" or something like that XD
Molding the mouth to make the expression more lively is the next level ;D

Aww! thanks so much! Its had me worried! She doesn't look quite so angry in person, something about the lighting seems to make her look that way in the pictures. Oh well - Dashie is always intense about something!
And she'd better not hate her dress! It took forever! Haha
I actually loved it because the dress detached and I had to glue it back on, but I got to paint it separately. Which I don't always too. But it made it SO much easier for this one.

Oh pictures ( =__= ) Sometimes customs look completely different in pictures. I hate when that happens ( >.< )

I love it when accidents turn into awesome. I've also been speeding up production by doing a bunch of ponies at once instead of just focusing on one or two. Which means I have like 8 ponies half sculpted. And three ponies that are partially painted. But it keeps me from getting bored
Yeah - I've found that my iPhone pictures come out best actually. My friend took this with a nice camera, but cameras just don't like ponies!

It's one of the few times where an accident is useful! I do the same. I work on more ponies at once because it's boring to have to wait for the paint to dry in order to keep working. When you have more ponies, you get more done!
