ok, long story here.
i saw several symbols scattered over dA that looked cool, so i wanted to make an original symbol. Combining elements i liked from different symbols, then modifying them, i came up with the general shape you see. but i couldnt get the colours i wanted. i then tried a gradiant, but non looked good with the curves i ahd. so i decided to use this as an oppertunity to practice shading and manual gradients.

That was a pain in the arse, but i think it turned out pretty good considering. Then, i figured it was kinda boring just sitting there, so i added some red in a few spots, then put in he pulsing center. ok, that was done, but it still looked like it was missing something, so i added the black to tie it all together.

The funny thing is, long story only took about 20minutes or so.

Anyways, for anyone to use, just note me if you do, ^_^
