I never really do any fanart - Thought I'd give it a try...When I was little I always wondered why 'Uncle Gadget' never had his own kids... Amazing how you get older and you understand these things.

I thought it was because DiC figured that Gadget would have seem too old to be a hero if he actually fathered children, and kept him as just 'The Uncle.' -Marvel Comics ran into that with Spiderman; they were afraid that Peter Parker would come off as an old fart since both he and Mary were to be new parents...and we can't have that, oh no...so, the Marvel team offed the baby and let Parker go back to his 'effed up life.- Different universe, but still similar possibilities.
Either all that or I.G. was just supposed to be a kids show.

Since I did the Marvel Spidey theory, I'm also aware that there is a Spidergirl series -Parker's daughter mostly ran the series and Peter actually was an old fart.

But it is incest and the artist is implying it. Good thing Penny is all grown up here, because she was just a little girl--albeit advanced for her age--in the original cartoon series.

That was not the intention, although in retrospect maybe her gown should not have been pink. But hey, if that's what it has become then so be it.

A practically legal-age Penny and her bungling uncle sharing the SAME bed, his quote-un-quote "gadgets"--particularly from the waist down--malfunctioning, her wry comment to compliment Gadget's always clueless expression, and the color choice of her robe all suggest incest, which is a huge no-no in many circles, including my own eyes.

You are assuming that it is Penny, which it is NOT supposed to be. It is meant to be portraying a random lady he was trying to seduce but could not for obvious reasons.
As I said, the pink of her robe might mislead the viewer into assuming she is Penny, but that was NOT the intention.

The fact that the peice is entitled "Uncle Gadget?" and that the girl in question is blond also helps mislead one, also.

That is a fair point, however my intention and thus the joke was that he remained an Uncle due to his incompetance with the ladies... and not due to incest.

Well, the thing is...he'd still be an Uncle, even if he did have a female love interest.
