someone mentioned Feonixes and I admit I haven't created an adoptable design in a while.Here's an autumn inspired Feonix. The blues and whites for the soft blue skies and the purples and browns for the changing leaves.
The winner may make minor changes to the markings as I tend to create markings that are difficult to replicate. Feonixes are manx only.

about an hour or so.
Sometimes for more detailed work it can take around 8 hours.
size and detail are the biggest factors when it comes to time in my case.

I wish Florida has more deciduous trees. :c All we have is a bunch of boring pine trees and oaks that don't really give off pretty fall colors (where I live anyways.)
But I do love fall, especially when this area's humidity level isn't so high and those cool breezy days you can wear anything on.

I know Florida - maybe very very north would have some...but mostly palms, pine's, and things like Banyon's.
It's been so hot all summer that our fall is being ruined as well - leaves are already turning, but they're falling off and shriveling up so fast they only end up an off-yellow. :c
I love fall nights, and the kind of days that are somewhat overcast and misty...makes me want to curl up with a sketchpad or book on the porch...

They're not bidding on the art exactly, it's for the rights to the character. The time spent on the actual drawing is generally irrelevant when you're buying a design, not a drawing.

For one thing people have the freedom to choose to bid or not. I am making no effort to push anyone into bidding. Another thing is it's not just for the sketch, it's for the design of one of my 'Feonix' species. And who are you to set the price on anyone's work, regardless of 'time?'

lol look at the bids, not once have I pushed anyone into bidding. I am not pressuring anyone to purchase it. Hell, it could have been left unbid and I would have just kept the design for myself. It's the point of me making money that you're getting your panties in up in a bunch. The bid is higher than what YOU THINK it should be worth. Then you throw out the concept that I'm disgracing all of artistic humanity because of what someone else bid on it. To be perfectly honest I had no clue the bid would go as high as it is. That aside, you're mad, clear and simple.
And it seems people like the 'feathers slapped on a puppy'. More than a few people mentioned enjoying the design.

Yes, because you know exactly what you're getting when you pay an artist thousands of dollars for a logo, full fucking exclusive rights to slap it everywhere you could possibly want. That's the entire deal here, this character design thing is shady as fuck. You're making money of off people's lack of knowledge of copyright and their naΓ―vety, and you have the audacity to pretend it's the exact same thing as EA hiring a character designer, that's the source of the contempt.

So you're accusing me of being a scam because I'm bidding off a creature I created? There are limits because it's one of my own creature designs/part of my headworld. This is what they're portrayed as. If people change it, it wouldn't be a 'Feonix.' That's the whole point, to bid off a 'Feonix' design. No one has to buy it. You don't seem to understand this. My agreements may not be the same as companies and their own hired artists. Those artists are HIRED to create a design, not sell EA a personal character design that have certain aspects that make them...them. I was speaking of the money potential art does have.
Seriously think about it. You're stuck in neutral just arguing about 'holy shit, this person is making money off some design I don't like. Let's bitch about it.'
I've bought designs before that have aspects about them that can't be changed. But this enables me to be involved with another artist's thoughts and headworld while meshing them into my own.

I'm arguing your demographic doesn't know what's prudent to spend their money on. Basically, it's buying something to be in a special crowd with somebody they may admire, because you have, essentially, built this VIP community, or perhaps they really want (to draw) a special wolf with feathers too and are afraid of repercussions should they try and create this outside your control. I've been looking for this, and I can't find a single page associated with your profile that addresses anything specific about the sale of design, ownership, usage, or what could be expected from this subscription community, and I bet I'm not the only one, too. Your heavy use of copyright doesn't really seem to support your point either. I'd say that's using people.
So, two points are made here: a) misinformation and lack of information regarding sale and ownership, b) using your fans through this. And since you're still replying we can be stuck in an ouroboros of disagreement together.

That's fine. I am acting on my own here and will not slander you. I am copyrighting the Feonix designs I created because it's in my right and they are my intellectual property. Copyright isn't as strict as it sounds either. People can create a similar idea, but when morals come into play we question on how far we will take it. I've seen people create designs that are similar to mine but I don't really bat an eye if it's not a 100% replica. No one is 100% unique in most designs. I've gotten this through my head and won't ignore that fact. It's what you do with the ideas that make them your own. Some people have shown interest in how I use feathers, a dog, and no tail and wish to have on of their own. I will also admit there are accidental coincidences.
I clearly stated in my artists comment people can make changes to the markings. And I never stated any restrictions in terms of creating a story/whatever the buyer wishes to do with it beyond leaving the core design obviously presenting itself as a Feonix. Why would there be any fine print? I haven't thought of any restrictions so dire that they needed to be stated other than what I have planted in my artist comment. And if anyone has any questions about them, like I said, I am more than willing to communicate on those matters. I'm pretty lax about them, most people who own a Feonix will agree.
I am replying because you split off the first comment that was more than rhetorical...and well, it is on my artwork so of course I'm going to respond. Do not accuse me of 'using' my 'fans' either. I have had no say in what they think about you. You clearly created a figure for yourself that some people don't like. You kinda asked for it there with how you've worded your comments.
You may not be the only one who is wondering, but that's because you may be thinking too hard. XD It is what it is, just read the artist comment and all the info is there. I am allowing certain changes to the design to satisfy replicating it in one's own works and the rest is free to roam! I am not a hulking vulture looking for the slightest mistake with how someone represents their Feonix; I'm very understanding and try to give as much freedom with these designs as possible without changing what they are.

I'll just reply here, then. I don't think you're doing it out of bad faith, or maliciously using anybody, but you are selling a product and you have the responsibility for that product. Consider that I had to pick a fight to get this basic information of what exactly you think you're selling, because I don't think it's straight forward to sell a designs with restrictions, however I do see the point of the subscription to collaboration, sort of buying into a neopets but only with dogs kind of experience, that's actually somewhat clever and contemporary in its own way. There's also the fact that everybody else have only considered that they're buying a blueprint (so they tell me), because you haven't specified what you can do with that copyright before now.
Which you probably should, because you're exactly right that copyright sounds far more severe than it is, but the fact is that you could easily create something similar (you can choose to see Bob here as fanart if you like) without breaking any rules, and it seems rather odd to me that you lay out your copyright on every page with these things. But that aside.
That said, no I don't have anything personal against you, nor do I really care what your fans think of me as long as they stay away from ad hominem argumentation. And no, buying designs like this is probably never going to be my cup of tea, but hearing your thoughts on it I don't actually think it's a half bad idea. I'm going to be constructive for once, and suggest that you play that up, it would be an intriguing experiment.
