Be Silent

I lie on my desk, head down, smothered in my arms.
I shake as the person behind me kicks at my chair.
The teacher, speaks out loud, too loud.
The class, yells in return, loud, too loud.
I try to drown them out, like I do the world,
To bring peace to my ears, to my soul.
A silence overcomes me, all is quiet.
I blink, the noise is loud and it drowns out my mind.
I cannot hear myself, within the noise that surrounds me.
Bring back the silence.
Surround me in a blanket of darkness,
So I can see.
No light penetrating through it,
To blind my sober eyes.
But, the darkness amplifies the noise,
Of all the voices, engulfing me, swallow me down.
Like a pill the cures your cancer.
Be silent, all, be silent.
