Description
We've been fighting timewith nail and tooth,
gaining ground
but losing youth,
made a Devil's deal
with a natural force
and we still think that we've won,
of course.
Nothing we do
can make time yield
as we spend our lives
on this battlefield.
But not all is lost
in this maddening fray
if you think back
to a simpler day,
before time told you
"grow up and be good",
back to a time called
"childhood".

Truer words were never spoken. I've felt like this for a long time, simplicity is far more important than struggling in a modern world. You capture that perfectly.
