rambling ahoy

This was my first costume involving materials that weren't just fabric and string, so it was pretty interesting! The armor and spikes are all craft foam, glue, paper mache, glue, layers of paint and some Rub'n'Buff (that stuff is so perfect for metallic finishes seriously). And did I mention glue? It did take a while, but I am pretty proud of the result.

The shirt was also a bit tricky, but I am very happy with how it looks. The only thing I'm dissatisfied with is the skirt; I'd never worked with pleather before so I just started stitching away. XD While it's not a complete disaster, it doesn't look as authentic as I wanted it to. Ah well, it's all experience.

Now I want to make her ax! Haha don't know if I'll ever do it but it'd be fun.
