KAMI (神, Kami?) is the Japanese word for the spirits within objects in the Shinto faith. Although the word is sometimes translated as "god" or "deity," some Shinto scholars argue that such a translation can cause a serious misunderstanding of the term (Ono, 1962) -WikipediaA personal project of mine. It struck me one day that i should do a story of mecha/droids with mask or faces of deities and gods and its easy since asian cultures usually create these masks to represent a certain god so i'll just work with that maybe tech it up a lil. Initially i wanted to work with chinese opera faces but from what i know chinese opera stories are mostly based on war periods. So its human faces. I wanted something more mysterious thus i came across japanese folklore and found it to be perfect.
So there are more characters to come, ex Fujin and Raijin
Lord Susanoo and of course the legendary Orochi.

In the Shinto religion, Shintoists believe that every living and non-living thing contains a kami (spiritual essence). When a child is born in Japan, their name is written on a local Shinto Shrine list, which declares the child a family child. This means that when they die they become a family spirit. Those killed without being shown gratitude in the Shinto religion will become aragami (vengeful spirits) and will hold a grudge (urami).

Very cool the designs of the Kami Project, i'd faved some of the fortunes, Bishamon, Amateratsu, etc.
