Description
This head was inspired by a picture of a fish head skull... i find the shapes very interesting and immediately it struck me that if i could just mechanify it, it'll make a cool mecha head.. obviously the skull did not had 2 eye.. those were from my own... Looks like EVA 02? lol.... I like red a lot... ><I kinda like how this turned out as it has a certain degree of rawness to it.. not to finished in terms of rendering... hopefully enough to suggest.

maybe the design and the color remind us the eva 02...at firs look.
But when we look this on close, the design, the shapes and the forms are very different from the eva 02...I really like your design on this one. very good...congrats

primitive shapes are good too, because you go to the true essence of the design...highly-rated functional and not just attractive and shinny

is it fully articulate?
you see, I always have problems with drawing necks that can move like a human's can.

It's much like a skin on the outside.. so articulation inside... Yes neck articulations... One thing i found out about mechas is that you can seperate the different angles of articualtion on different parts.. need not all angle articulate on one joint... maybe i'll explain in detail sometime... lol. Ppl just tend to use the ball joint almost everytime everywhere... i find it a lil redundant.. i too always find different ways to articualte the joints...

I agree, it does make it look more realistic when you use a multi-articulate look to a robot. I tried that out recently, and found it much more fulfilling to finish than one that uses simply the ball joint over and over again.

Ha! Glad you said, Eva 02, cuz sometimes it gets annoying when people always say "it reminds me of..." So you beat us to it. But Eva O2 rocks anyway.
Like everybody else, I think the inspiration behind this was pretty interesting. With such cool results, can only hope you keep finding inspiration from unlikely sources!

Im not sure what fish it was coz it was just a skull.. looked pretty pre historic. But yea Angler fish sort too... as it's obvious...lol

yeah man, that stuff is cool as hell. like 10 years ago ( shit that sounds loooong!) i used to work for a shop that designed custom body kits for import cars and that was ALL the rage man. everyone wanted that stuff but its expensive and we coudlnt apply it to everything so we had to desing a bunch of fake looks too. was nuts.
it also sorta looks like the background in photoshop haha.

This would have to be the first time I've seen someone draw inspiration on a mecha (helm at least) helm from fishies. I'm kinda curious what fish skull you looked at for this. Cause before checking your description, yeah, really did look like something from a fish, or at least something aquatic. When I saw that gold ring, I thought of gills... And yes, the red works great, it looks believable.
I have nothing constructive to say, I have only praise, this is very well done.
