As a rescue volunteer it's easy to get attached to our rescued dogs and their plight. But there is always that one dog you have a special attachment to. That dog who you seem to understand the best. I followed his progress when he was being networked. I pulled him from the shelter on his last day. I named him and gave him his first hug of his new life. I took his pictures and wrote his bio for our website. I try to see him as much as possible, try to gain his trust and learn what he enjoys. And his happiness makes my day. <3

Blitzen is a big boy who was saved thanks to the efforts of dedicated supporters who networked him online. He is a striking red and black color with soft silky fur. Blitzen has a friendly and gentle personality and loves hugs and affection. He seems to have been a family dog in his past as he walks well on the leash and understands commands like "sit" and "stay." He is also a quick learner and loves to be engaged in activities with people. Blitzen is probably around 3 or 4 years old and his good manners show. He tends to be quiet and well-behaved when left alone, and gets along with other dogs. He is a medium energy dog who wants to be loved, but he does need someone who has a German Shepherd-proof backyard so he doesn't escape, which is likely how he came to us in the first place. Blitzen would love to romp around with you and live life to its fullest!
