I don't know if this will make sense but....when I'm in my dreams the things that happen to me which are usually negative thoughts I have when I'm awake what I think is going to happen in real life...so it's like the after math thoughts come later when I'm asleep causing me to dream like this...I think

I drew this to try and represent that he eats my good dreams and I'm only left with bad dreams now...I guess the shadow monster thing would represent my worries and angish
