Description

I’m still in a major funk right now, but my loyal watchers need some content to satiate your creative lust, so I’mma’ be posting some work I’ve done with a Star Wars character creator game.

...

1,000 years ago, the Jedi Order once stood proud and strong, maintaining peace throughout the Equestrian Galaxy through their connection to the Force. Though they were a formidable force, they had grown proud and full of hubris –despite much of their code rejecting emotions, believing none could usurp them. One of the greatest of these Jedi was Master Celestia, though young she had proven beyond capable with the Force and ascended to the rank of Jedi Master faster than any jedi on record. She became known as ‘the Jedi of the Sun’ as it was not only speculated that she could move a planet’s sun through the Force if needed, but because she was also bright and optimistic, a light and inspiration for many both inside and outside of the Jedi.

Unfortunately, she too became afflicted with the same hubris and pride as the rest of the Order, and in this, she had come to neglect her sister, Luna. Both she and Luna were star pupils of the Order, masters of the Force who had tapped into a purer state of the Force known as ‘The Harmony’, which could cancel out any dark power. It is with this power that the two sisters defeated the Sith Lord and self-proclaimed Lord of Chaos, Discord. Though their victories were great, the glory would not last…

Though Luna trained and practiced just as hard as her sister, she could never seem to ascend herself to the level and rank of the great Jedi of the Sun, and she especially could not gain the praise and respect of her elder sister. She began to see faults in the Order but more and more was reprimanded for pointing them out, and at times she would bend the rules to do what she thought was right. And of course this did nothing to help her standing and reputation. “Why can you not be more like your Sister?” they told her. As time wore on and Celestia’s pride and hubris grew, Luna’s bitterness and spite also grew.

In her bitterness and spite, Luna was swayed by the allure of the Dark Side of the Force, convinced that the Jedi Order had fallen from grace, had become corrupt and would soon have the Galaxy beneath a tyrannical monarchy. Now bearing the name Darth Moon, Luna attacked the Order and singlehandedly slaughtered more than half of the Order, forcing the survivors –including Jedi Master Starswirl, to run for their lives. Only Celestia, distraught over the dark transformation her sister had succumbed to, stayed behind, not wanting to believe that Luna was lost to the Dark Side. The Jedi Master and Sith Lord dueled so fiercely that the battle leveled the entire Jedi Temple, and although Celestia was formidable, the Dark Side had made Luna stronger than her. Left with no choice, Celestia used all of her influence over the Force to cast Darth Moon out of the Galaxy.

Amongst the ruins, she wept bitter tears at the losses; the loss of the Temple she’d called her home, the loss of the Jedi Order, the loss of her friends and colleagues, and most of all the loss of her beloved sister, whose loss Celestia realized, all too late, was all her own fault. In her grief, Celestia left the planet and the ruined temple and moved to the city of Canterlot on the planet Harmonia. Recognizing the faults in herself and in the Order that had led to the downfall, Celestia founded a new Order, one that would not ignore the true faults and weaknesses of individuals as the old Order had. Her Order would also not take children and raise them from birth, but allow all force-sensitive individuals to partake in the teachings and practices.

Through Celestia’s Jedi Order, the Equestrian Galaxy once again found peace and order. But Celestia knew that her sister was not gone forever, at least not physically, and one day she would return and return with a vengeance. With the Harmony, Celestia was indeed very powerful, but alone she could at best only delay the inevitable. She sought out an apprentice from those among her students, one who could shoulder their weight of the Harmony in Luna’s absence; but in the end her search was ultimately fruitless.

Through meditations and communion with the Force, she realized that no one could ever replace Luna in carrying the Harmony with her, for Luna’s consumption by the Dark Side still troubled Celestia too greatly and thus she would never again be able to control the Hamrony without her sister. Though this caused her distress, she realized that it was time to pass on the courtship of the Harmony to new students as her teachers had done for her and Luna.

Time wore on and her search for these new heralds continued, meanwhile a new student had enrolled, an untrained yet very eager and knowledgeable little girl who was ecstatic beyond belief to learn that she had been accepted into the academy and was going to be a Jedi. Although she was very young, her potential with the Force was startling to many, and through that potential, Celestia saw that the Harmony had chosen her as a Herald. And not too long after, she would find five other students whom the Harmony had also chosen. Now all that remained was time until Darth Moon’s return and for Master Celestia to train these 6 as heralds of the Harmony…

After the Chosen 6 had brought clarity to Luna and freed her from the grasp of the Dark Side, she became suddenly aware of the weight of the wrongs committed by her and she begged her elder sister for forgiveness. To both her relief and surprise; her sister not only forgave her but apologized for how she had neglected Luna and told her that after so long it was time to put the past behind them and move on.

Since then, Luna has had a hard time adjusting to the new Equestrian Galaxy and how things have changed in her absence. As such it was difficult to connect with others outside her blood, maintaining a very stoic and often cold-seeming tone. But she had at least her sister as a piece of the old days, and while she enjoyed reconnecting with her, she felt as a Jedi Master it was her duty to strengthen herself and not lose touch of her duty purpose.

Although she tried to put her past behind her, she would find herself haunted by them. Celestia sensed this, though not fully and not before Luna could mask it. In truth she was embarrassed by this and felt that a Jedi Master should not give in to such weaknesses and fret over things that cannot be undone, so as she masked these haunted feelings so as not to worry her sister, but in the process would find herself tortured rather than just haunted by this feeling of guilt, battling a shadowy manifestation of her villainous self in her mind every night as she meditated.

It would not be long before these visions began to spread to the rest of the Order, and in the process threatened the rest of the planet and all who needed the Order. And of course, it had become impossible for Luna to shield any of this from her sister. Celestia and the Chosen 6 would once again rescue Luna from the darkness, but again Luna felt she was undeserving of the mercy and unworthy of being a Jedi Master.

However, Celestia told her that her mind was still set in the old ways of the Order, that the New Order sought to help such troubles, and that she would help Luna through her own doubt and self-loathing.

Not long after, Luna would extend the help she received to other students through telepathic links while in meditation, in particular guiding three young students through their own doubts and fears…

While searching for a new fellow Herald of the Harmony, Celestia encountered a young woman who, at the time, was the most proficient in the Force that Celestia had ever seen, almost as powerful as she and Luna, in fact. The young prodigy’s name was Cadence, and in so many ways she seemed perfect to carry the burden once carried by Luna.

However as Celestia took Cadence in as her favored pupil and time passed, the Jedi Master came to realize that it was not in Cadence’s destiny to take on such a mantle.

Cadence was described by many as Perfect, loved by most and hated by those who envied her. Her connection with the Force seemed to radiate out of her in a strange way that seemed to influence everyone around her to think only good things about her.

Of course she could be somewhat naive to this as well; as many loved her she just assumed that they were just very nice and any tension they had with one another was just caused by stress from training and studies [which led her to often go to Celestia and the other teachers and ask that they lighten the workload, much to the amusement of Celestia] She formed a strong bond with a young padawan named Twilight Sparkle, a very sisterly teacher/student bond.

It was through this bond that Cadence would come to realize her specialty in the Force and learn how to utilize it effectively, becoming known to many as ‘the Jedi of Love’ for her ability to resolve heated conflicts.

Because of her aura, many coveted her hand and heart, but Cadence was not the type to appreciate being a prize, wanting only someone who saw her as an individual and not a type of trophy, who respected her wishes above his own desires. Though there were many good hearted under Celestia’s academy, few lived up to Cadence’s standard. She found the knight Shining Armor [Twilight’s older brother] to be worthy of her standards, and indeed to her joy he also had his heart for her.

She feared however that such a love was too perfect, that she’d set her standards too high and a love between them was doomed to fail, but in the end Cadence accepted that everything ended and it would be foolish of her to reject such a love out of fear for the inevitable, and soon she and Shining Armor were married, the first Jedi Masters in history to wed one another.

Though there have been great tests to their love and bond, from Sith lords to a lost empire she’d learned she was the heir to, Cadence is content to live and enjoy her life in gratitude rather than fear that it could end, as a Jedi master, an empress, a wife, and a mother.

Much like his little sister would later, Shining Armor showed much aptitude with the Force, and much discipline. He was always the type to please –some would call him a suck up, always the type to push and properly present himself, regardless of the fool he would often make of himself. He had his pet pleasures, but he’d always felt that his duty was to a cause much greater than himself, always ready to serve.

Initially he’d wanted to join the Equestrian Galactic Guard, but upon learning he had a connection to the Force he’d instead been sent to Celestia’s Academy. At first he was disappointed, initially believing that Jedi rarely truly served, unlike their forceless armed brethren of the Guard, but would soon be proven wrong when learning just what the Jedi really were.

He still faltered and was over-eager, but he always pushed himself, always volunteering for training exercises and missions, and every time he failed, every time he felt he’d brought shame to the Jedi order he would push himself to do better and atone for his mistakes. Many would often compare him to his younger sister Twilight because of this.

Naturally, he became a model Jedi Knight, though there are those who would argue he was at times a little hard on others who weren’t quite up to par. He became so skilled and disciplined that he would be asked to aid the Equestrian Guard in training sessions and even lead missions when the Guard was needed.

It is very possible he would have hardened further had not a fellow Jedi, Cadence, kept it soft. Her aura of love affected him just as it had everyone else, but he would restrain himself in her presence, and though he would later learn of the aura, he found his heart still longed for her.

Yet he kept himself restrained, knowing a Jedi could fall terribly if he let his heart drag him down. He deeply respected her –many said even more than Master Celestia, and thus would only present himself to her in the most respectable manner. He would break his protocol and make the odd gesture of affection from time to time, but each time it would be an utter failure in his eyes and a shameful one at that, so he would continue to restrain himself.

But as fortune –or the Force, would have it, Cadence had found his affections to actually be quite charming and as it turned out he had lost since won her heart.

He has since married the love of his life and now leads the Crystal Guard as his wife was revealed to be the sole heir to a lost Empire. He is still a disciplined warrior, but is now also a loving husband and father, and at the encouragement of his wide, he does occasionally cut loose and let his more childish side out.

With certain lessons Celestia just could not teach her star student or the other Heralds of the Harmony, Celestia sent them to the planet known as Everfree to experience the teachings of an old acquaintance of hers, a Master Zecora. Though the Heralds had ventured though the planet before, they hadn’t stayed for long; there were legends about the Everfree; stories of dark force-wielding women known as Night Sisters, who lived in the ruins of the Old Order Temple and now preyed on passersbys who dawdled for too long.

As they searched for master Zecora, they encountered a strange hooded figure who spoke to them in verses rather than sentences. The Heralds took this as incantations and assumed the figure was a Night Sister. But they were Jedi Knights, were they not? Was it not their duty to deal with the likes of such dark force wielders as Night Sisters?

They called out to the figure and told her to surrender so that she could be brought in, but instead the figure turned her back to them and walked away, so they pursued her. The chase lasted two days, taking them through a field of strange blue plants that actually inhibited their abilities to wield the Force and of course blocked the Harmony, though they assumed that this was caused by the alleged Night Sister, finally ending in a fight the figure used no lightsabers with [this was said to be another trait of the Night Sisters].

But of course, as it would turn out, the hooded figure turned out to be none other than the Jedi Master Zecora whom they were sent to find, and the force inhibiting plants? Left behind from Night Sisters who had initially lived in the Everfree Forests, before Zecora drove them out, plants that served as traps for Jedi.

And thus was revealed a lesson Celestia had intended for her students to learn; to not judge only by rumor and appearance, but to be of a sound mind and to gather all the facts before making a judgment.

Naturally they all felt rather foolish –neigh stupid, over the misunderstanding, but Master Zecora assured them that even blunders were just another form of learning –provided that something was learned, anyway. They would learn more lessons with the Jedi Master before returning, most definitely wiser for their experiences.

Zecora has since been back and force between the New Order and Everfree, still going back to the now forest planet to ensure its purged of the plague plants left behind by the Night Sisters. She claims that although a lightsaber is a Jedi’s signature weapon, it is not an essential Jedi tool, that even such things as a shock staff and a saber will due.
