Description
Well; if I remade the Slizers, then I’ll also make the RoboRiders.
RoboRiders are an even more curious period of Lego’s Technic character lines. These particular… ‘things’, are sentient robotic motorcycles which battle it out on a seemingly humanless world. But even more peculiar is their builds. Slizers were effectively still action figures, and there was still a lot you could do with the available parts; but RoboRiders had a much more limited field, with entirely new parts almost exclusive to the line. And while Slizers had disk-throwing arms, the RoboRiders had… front wheels that could be launched… Right.
They didn’t have launchers or projectile cannons built into their chassis... they had front wheels that could be hurled at opponents.
Also, the story made for the line is rather… confusing. Apparently, there was some kind of malicious virus, but it was never explained where it came from, and the collectible projectile wheels were either the source of the RoboRiders’ power, or it… was what was control the RoboRiders-?
I dunno’. Anyway, this line didn’t last as long, and not long afterward, Lego would strike gold with BIONICLE, so the sentient robobikes were promptly forgotten about.
[Largely due to a lack of sufficient pieces] my take on the Riders don’t have any projectile wheels, rather, their only [known] weapons are what is attached to them. So ‘Power’, for example, has to rely almost entirely on his laser gun arms [or maybe they shoot missiles] if he wants to fight anyone. And I think that’s perfectly fine; it forces the bikes to be a bit more creative and resourceful in their combat styles.
Some of these also had gear functions to adjust the position of the back wheels, but for most of these, I just opted out of that. I also actually prefer the gears for wheels, as it makes them all look more rugged and tough
