With my mojo temporarily rejuvenated, I decided to hold off the requests for at least a minute and do my own artwork again.

I would say that Zecora is my favorite FiM character, but that honor goes to Derpy, and 2nd place to the Doctor, but I'd say Zeky ranks at least a close 3rd. I also think her rhyming trait is a really entertaining feature.

Personally, I am not one for the common depiction of a humanized Zaecora; namely the barely-clothed, over-sexualized versions where the most she's doing is just mixing herbs or standing over a cauldron or whatever. Some people may like taht sort of thing, but I personally don't want to see a humanized pony character JUST TO SEE SKIN AND JUGS.

Lauren Faust originally meant for Zecora to be the mentor-type character -likely alongside Celestia, but more home-based, a professional who knows exactly what she's doing and always is there to help when she's needed to either assist or teach... and obviously by 'teach' I mean kick butt.

While I do not see this as human Zeky's typical garb, it would not at all surprise me if she had this outfit in her closet, swords and everything.

So why the swords? Ah, well, because I see Zecora as such a bad@$$ and so near-stereotypically traditional to her African heritage, I figured a weapon that wasn't a gun would be cool, so I gave her pair of Ninjaken [swords which have been stated to be specifically designed for killing] and she also knows some kind of ninja-esque African martial art.

Oh, and as for her total lack of appearances in 'Equestria Girls'? The ONLY ethnically diverse character in the ENTIRE branch of the series -an Asian guy, is Flash Sentry!
For shame, Hasbro, FOR SHAME.

I altered the quality of this pic a bit, unlike my last few posts, digitally chopping away some unpleasant bits because this drawing kind of ended up as a bit of a mess around the edges, unlike the last ones where I miraculously had only a few slip-ups.
