I've been sick as...well...a dog, for the past few days.Last night I took some pepto bismal and woke up with a black tongue. xD This is seriously what I thought when I looked in the mirror.
In case you didn't know, chewable pepto bismal turns your tongue black.
Also Chow dogs have black tongues.

don't think I'd wanna have chewable pepto if it does that. I rarely ever had it and the one time I need it is when I go on vacation with family in California but my dad took the time to get extra strength liquid pepto. I dunno if I wanna imagine how it loks to have a black tonghe for a while

I think I was to into getting better at the time to check XD One day someone with the liquid Pepto will do something like you do if that same thing ever does do the same thing as the chewable ones.
Whether it happens all the time with those or not I think I'll stick to the liquid XP

Oh I'm rarely sick, too, in fact, before this, I hadn't been sick in probably at LEAST 2 years. So I was completely unprepared to deal with it. xD

YUP, I prefer it to the liquid kind because I can barely swallow that. It's so fluffy and horrible. xD Chewing a tablet is waaaaay easier.

i love chows, we had one when i was little. my parents tell me i used to pull his hair to make him growl and then i laughed. perhaps he understood that i was a toddler who didn't know any better becuase he never did bite. there seem to be alot of people that claim chows are mean dogs,which confuses me. Onyx never showed any agression and was also abused before he was given to us. i
don't know were people get these ideas, but they should do research on animal behavior.
do all chows have black tongues or just most of them? his was all black but we had a nanny goat with half pink half black tongue. i love it when animals have wierd coloring or markings. anyway, this pic is adorable and i hope you feel better soon.

Some dogs are more prone to aggression than others (one that I can think of right now is the Cocker Spaniel), but that doesn't mean that there are a few who break that stereotype! Just like people, each dog has his or her own personality, and it can sometimes contradict the breed standard. x3
I'm pretty sure a black tongue is a preferred trait, as in, at a show, a pink tongue will disqualify them. But, I'm sure that there are some purebred chows that are born with pink tongues, or spotted tongues even! x3
