First artwork on newly reformatted compy......which is still having the same problems.
...Anyway, I enjoy The Lion King and Kimba the White Lion, so I drew this.

Leave a negative comment about either TLK or Kimba and I will hide it.
Kimba was a great show.
The Lion King was a great movie.
"Inspiration" is common in Disney movies -- We'll leave it at that and be mature about it, yus?

It is! And I've heard Kimba's name in English was originally going to be Simba (haha!), but they changed it to Kimba so it would be slightly more interesting, since "Simba" only means "lion", and sounded kind of boring. xD

Some people say that The Lion King movie is a rip off of Kimba The White Lion.

Yeah! I think it honestly started as a legitimate homage or Disney adaptation, but then it all went awry. xD There's a lot of evidence beyond just the similarities between the two stories, so I can't imagine it wasn't inspired by Kimba, at the veryΒ least. But it sounds like at one point, they were trying to make an actual Kimba movie, especially since they used the name "Kimba" in emails!!

As do I; Kimba AND Simba are both great characters. It's always nice to see art where they act like good buddies who enjoy each other's company--I personally feel that they would enjoy being friends with each other, given how similar they are. ^^

There needs to be more art of these two getting along. Them fighting like that doesn't quite go with ether character, and besides, as big as Africa is they can both be kings without fighting over land. I think they'd be best friends. Who cares if Simba was inspired by Kimba? They aren't the exact same character, they don't have the exact same life experiences, and they don't share the exact same design (Simba isn't even whiteΒ ). They're just two great characters that have some things in common, and two of my favorite animal charaters.

Exactly. I think if they were to meet, they'd definitely get along, although Kimba's more of a goody-goody, and Simba's kind of a trouble-maker. I think it'd be a good dymanic, actually!
Plus, Kimba seems to be king of a jungle-type area, where Simba takes a savannah, so I think they're not in competition or anything!

Well, I actually know that you don't, but check out these two oldies that seem like they go together anyway: "Rama Lama Ding Dong" by The Edsels and "Mine All Mine" by Bobbie Smith and the Dream Girls ; I swear, they're freakin' replying to each other! XD It's like they're part of one long song.

I've been lying this whole time; I'm actually your parents' age! Naw, I just like doo-wop. Remember when I linked you to 3 Japanese doo-wop songs? Since Girls' Generation music spans so many styles (bubblegum pop,Β hip-hop, ballad, electro pop, trot (foxtrot-like Korean music), jazz, dance pop, funk and/or soul, pop rock, R&B and maybe more (disco?)), I want them to try doo-wop and ska. I've heard Rama Lama Ding Dong in TV shows (kids' shows & documentaries), probably movies, probably radio and definitely infomercials. Searching for Bobbie Smith and the Dream Girls online yields much fewer results (no Wikipedia page!) than searching for The Edsels, so I'm not sure if I've heard "Mine All Mine" until recently on a documentary, but if so, it'd probably have been on an infomercial.
