To be honest, I change my desktop so often, that I've probably had about 50 since that last one I put up, which was Feel the Magic, I believe. Wow. That was so long ago...Anyway, I felt that my Wind Waker desktop was a bit obnoxious in my office (Link was huge and colorful), and I suddenly felt the urge to "design" with Photoshop again (as opposed to only drawing and coloring with it), so, when I saw that pic of Link and hooded Zelda, while checking to see how close my costume had come, I decided to use that. I used a technique I rarely use, which is to lighten the background, and darken the figure, and I thought it came out...er...well, way too subtle to tell what I did...but...makes for a cool background anyway.
I wanted to submit it here as a wallpaper, but I didn't realise we couldn't, if the images weren't our own, so, I just used it myself XD

This particular image, no. I had made it 1024x768, but that turned out to be too small, so I upped it one more (that's what my screen was at). This one probably doesn't have an accurate measurment, since it is a screenshot that I made smaller to post here XD If I had a website to host images on, though, I'd make downloadable ones, though!

Yeah, I hear ya. I love my DS, because it doesn't look like I'm playing it when I use it at work (I work with a tablet and stylus, and the DS on the desk next to me), but even I'm starting to wish for a game that uses more buttons than touch screen. And I really like fun touch screen games! I just feel hungry for something like Mario 64 again XD

personally i prefer a system that uses a real control system instead of a touchscreen which is gimmicky and 2 screens is even worse

That's nice, sure does make for a good desktop. Yeah, I don't keep my desktop screenshot updated either. I've got two machines and neither have that Zelda desktop anymore, although it did jump around for a bit before I removed it from the running. I guess I don't see much point to posting one unless I've got something to say about it, since it's not my art. However, since you put this together yourself it makes sense that you upload it.
