NyaLinaa β€” [SOLVED] PMXe : Strange lines on the edges of poly

Description

I don't understand where those lines come from.

PMX Info is perfectly OK.

Vertices are properly joined.

No invalid faces. No overlaping faces.

Normals have been averaged.

No sphere. No toon.

There are those line everywhere, depending on how I turn the camera...

Does anyone know how to avoid this problem ?

EDIT : Actually, the inside mouth material was merged with the lips, I dissociated both into two different materials, and the lines disappeared!
I can't explain exactly, but it looks like the parts were interfering.

Thank you all for your help! β™₯

Usually happens when the faces aren't connected to each other. So trying to merge the verts at the exact same point should fix it. If not, idk. Also its a lot of work.

I thought it was that too... so I already merged the near vertices before asking for help, but nothing changed πŸ˜•

Ahah don't worry I understand perfectly ^^

I finally managed to clear those lines !

The material had already double-sided OFF.

If you look closely at the lips, you'll see some tiny straight lines following the edges of the polygons.

First make copy of model

:GREEN:

select vertex groups from object tab in edit mode with face mesh selected -Β

are any groups locked ? are any groups double - if select group remember deselect after and before selecting another - remove suspect groups or unlock groups and test visemes / morphs still okΒ  and you not delete wrong vertex group just undo with ctl-z - you might fix it but mesh not move with head after so that easy fix with new group + parenting -Β

:RED:

before you do this (above) just check with face selected in edit mode try remove doubles - this can have effect of seal mouth up so be careful. test all viseme / morphes at each step.Β  it could be this simple

-

If you want i can look at mesh for you

Thank you so much for your help, if I get another problem like this I'll follow your steps !

Actually, I succeeded in making these line desapear! the inside mouth material was merged with the lips, I dissociated both into two different materials, and the lines disappeared !

Good news yay. This method would have shown this error for you. Hope you can use it for future problems.

SometimesΒ anti-aliasing can cause weird lines.Β  Try turning it off to see if that solves the problem.

yes I retextured everything.

The lines shows up on the 3D view only, and they disappear when you move the camera angle, letting other line to be shown somewhere else on the face :/
