I dab the brush on a paper towel if there's too much water on it. I also use paper made from cotton, so it absorbs the moisture. If you have trouble with wrinkles, you should use 140lb coldpress watercolor board.

Ah I'll keep that in mind next time I do watercolour. Thanks for the tip! But I'd still like to know how you drew it. Did you use watercolour pencils, or paint?

I used paint. It helps that I went straight to using the paint instead of marking out any lines in pencil or pen. Freehanding is a bit tricky but if you do it right, it gives off a more elegant look than anything with pencil lines.

I love how your watercolors are always so light and elegantly painted, and the even more elegant simplicity of this piece gives it a wonderfully quiet and beautifully serene feeling. Those soft pinks and salmons are so gorgeous and look so delicate to the touch, it feels like you made her out of silky sakura petals and dew-dropped spring sunlight!

Oh, that sharp chin...So good! I really love how her hair flow behind with the butterflies, they're flying along with each other!
Simple yet beautiful and relaxing, soothing any discomfort of the viewers and shaking their eyes up to witness the masterpiece.

Thanks! It was harder to leave the white spots white than it was to get the texture in. ; v; I only had one stroke for each area to set the mood Q VQ , and it was life and death (to me). XD;;;
