Description
The final version of my follow-up to San and Moronoko. If I get to draw San with her brothers, why not draw Ashitaka with his precious akashishi Yakkuru/Yakul?
By the way, Mononoke Hime owns you. Just in case I hadn't made that clear. ^_^
I wasn't planning on finishing this for awhile, but once i got started I couldn't stop. I'm actually almost happy with how it turned out; I loved it until I got to Ashitaka. Then it started sucking.
If there are any inconsistencies with either of their character designs, please tell me; I haven't seen the movie in months, to be honest, and I wouldn't be surprised it I got Ashitaka's outfit wrong somehow, since I drew this off of a rough sketch I made ages ago. Though I am aware that I took liberties with Yakkuru's anatomy; he's not very elkish anymore. He's like some deer-horse hybrid with massively massive horns. Oops. >_>;
Done on Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. Clocked at about 5-6 hours.

But, Yakuls front legs lack those joints characteristic for hoofers like him.

I love that movie
I did notice a few flays in Yakkul's body structure (back legs a little short)
and Ashitaka is pretty small, I mean compare Yakkul's Head to Ashitaka's,
HOWEVER, I still love it and anyone who doesn't needs taste therapy...or a delicious poppyseed muffin!

Personally, I have no idea. XD I just remember thinking, "WHOA BIG ASS DEER."
...And also about how much friggin fun it would be to ride one. My first horse was the same colour as Yakkuru, so I used to pretend she was an akashishi and run around on her bareback in the pasture until my trainer yelled at me to stop before I got myself hurt. >__>;

Glad you like! *clings* I actually drew the background off of a photo I took in Alaska last spring. XD Not exactly Japanese, but it seemed to fit the movie setting well enough.
