Description "It helps, sometimes, to come here," he said. "To remember that there is always so much more than just one day."

"It's beautiful," she said, and meant it.

Then he reached out and took her hands in his. "So are you," he said. He moved closer, and she caught the sweet scent of his fur. "I know this must seem sudden, but... I never expected to feel this way. To care about someone this way."

The pads of his palms were hot against her hands. She had never thought that holding hands could be erotic, but it was. She felt herself caught between fear and a wild, winging ecstasy.

He's a colleague, she told herself firmly. Nothing else. I've worked with plenty of men beforeβ€”

--but none like this, none whose eyes held such joy and wonder at the same things she loved, who looked at her as a person, as a woman, as herself, not just a symbol or a title. She'd had other men try to flirt with her before, and a few had persisted so much as to ask her out. She'd rebuffed them all politely but coolly, telling herself she had neither the time nor the interest for those kinds of distractions.

But this time...

...I don't think I'm supposed to be uploading this yet. Let's see if I get caught and yelled at. >3>

Illustration commissioned for a story in an anthology of adult anthro-themed short stories that's being published this spring/summer by Sofawolf Press. I enjoyed the story and doodling this up so much I couldn't wait to share. x'D

I still have a few more days before the deadline, so if you have any suggestions for improvement, make em now!

The artwork is very beautiful and realistic. Don't see that too often with humanxanthro stuff. The story seems it might be an interesting romance one, I hope you upload it and your artwork...

The story is actually by Renee Hall; I was commissioned to illustrate it for publication. So can't upload it; it's not mine, and it's in print. X3 Sorry!

I didn't; they asked to include me. *shrug* I like the idea, though. XD

Is the excerpt from a book, or story, or what? It sounds interesting.

I love the realism and atmosphere of this picture. The black-and-white colours add a nice touch.

It's an excerpt from a short story that I illustrated for an anthology that's being published this summer. :]

I can see the mood, lighting, and details have been commented, but I've one comment:
In the story, it says he took both her hands, but in the image, you only draw one pair of them...lol

Wow, this is gorgeous! I think it looks really nice in grayscale... It helps to focus on the intimacy between these two instead of the pretty colors

I wanna read this book nooooow! @_@

I love everything about this piece, and the fact that it's grayscale - which usually tends to detract from images - seems "right" here. That's really gorgeous, and the anatomy and the emotion is especially powerful here.

Stunning piece. I'm really impressed.

This is really nice, I like the intimacy you can feel between the characters. My only suggestion would be to make them stand more from the background, perhaps by blurring it or changing its constrast, unless, of course, you intend to make it look that way.
Oh, and the clothes are really awesome, love the folds!

It looks amazing.
Working with black and white must be a nice break. Makes shading so much easier.

BTW, it looks like there's a face in the background. Is that intentional?
If you look at the thumbnail size, it looks like the shape of a face where the lighting comes through the trees. It's pretty cool.

The background is amazing! Looks like an actual picture! You did a really good job matching the picture to blend well with the text. You made the woman's expression fit perfectly with what her thoughts in the text were. And the jaguar-guy looks like his lips could utter "I Love You" at any moment! You did a VERY good job.
