Description
Let's see if this uploads. I honestly have no idea how these work. You may have to click "Download" to view the animation? Please be kind; I've never tried this before, and I don't have an animation program.
Unfortunately this is the max size that Photoshop will allow me to animate, so I had to cut out almost 1/3 of the frames I actually had in there (I now have 40, where I had nearly 60), so it's pretty rough and choppy. To add insult to injury, I then had to cut its physical pixel size in half. Needless to say, I can't finish this or clean it up. T___T Someone give me an animation program.
Based loosely on the vajra pestles movements of taijiquan (I made a few changes to allow for the water). Was going to be Katara.
Drawn on Adobe Photoshop CS1, animated in Photoshop Elements 2.

Wow, neat. I'd speed it up, though. It'd make it a lot smoother. I did that with a mannequin animation I did recently, and you'd be surprised how much a difference .1 second can make, lol.
I've got CS3, which has an awesome animation thing, but I just do mine in elements 4 cause I'm too lazy to figure out the multi-layer animation shit

I am currently trying to do an animated little film. But it's turning into an impossible epic that I want/need to finish by september. And I only have the script almost finished. But my point is. Your little animation is beautiful. And you said you had to cut out some frames from it, so the original had to be smooth. I don't know if someone already told you this or not but, Go to adobe.com and download a 30days free trial of macromedias Flash Professional. That's what I have. I have an older version but It's activated. And so for 30 days free you can play around with it and discover how wonderfull of a program it is for animations, although with some limitations. (you need a powerfull PC to get all th elittle special effects in an animated film)
btw: how long did it take you to animate this?

you can really tell from this that the waterbending was derived from the slow moves of tai chi :3 i really like how smooth this is <333

Waterbending is based off of Tai Chi.
Sorry for answering this when it wasn't a comment to me.

oh, i know
It's just, I thought Avatar's waterbending was based off yang style, rather than chen, so it's cool to see a few chen style moves animated.

o: If you still have all your frames, I can compile them on adobe flash cs3 for you. It would be no problem at all.
