I made some ceramic beads and fired them in a fire last weekend. 🔥
Making beads is relaxing, as is staring into the dancing flames and listening to the crackling wood. Why is it so hypnotizing?

I'm gonna put some of them in my hair and use most of them for future projects. 😁

Fire firing clay is hard, even the low fire clays.  Too much it becomes brittle, too little they eventually crumble or chip too easily.  It really is trial and error.  Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.  LOL!  I wasn't trying to make beads though, just primitive pottery and it was a long time ago.
These beads look really nice.   Matter of fact I love them!  Just thinking of all the cool things I could use beads like that on, can't wait to see what all you do with them.

Myees, I am planning to try and fire some pots also, but I am very prepared that probably everything will crack haha! These little beads are easy enough to fire though, and really fun to make
Thaank you!

Just when you do pots, don't make the edges too thin (they tend to burn and become brittle if you do) and if you fire more then one at once, make sure they're all the same as far as thickness.  Easier to get them all fired evenly.   I did pit firing with a white clay and it turned out with varying results.  So switched to a red clay with a lowering firing temp.  That sure worked out a lot better.   But was just making primitive small pinch pots though.  It really is fun to play with clay like this.  I completely agree.
I sculpt, but use Apoxy Sculpt (brand), which is a two part epoxy that works like clay (can be thinned down and smoothed with water).  But it cures on it's own and can be sanded, drilled and painted afterward.  No firing required and it comes in various colors or can be tinted with pigments.  Ever heard of it, or tried it?  It was originally designed for the Taxidermy trade.
