Description
Monsieur l'Inspecteur from Victor Hugo's novel Les MisΓ©rables as an extremely historically inaccurate Templar, for giggles. This was actually drawn around the same time as Steampunk Javert (basically I was having too much fun stuffing our favorite grumpy Parisian into strange costumes).Related content

This is totally historically inaccurate but who cares? It rocks.
And as a Crusader, I can just agree
Oh wait, it means if I lived in that parallel world, I would be one of Javert's officers/soldiers? Just sayin'.
Non nobis Domine.

Oh my. Somehow, it reminds me of Brother Petro Orcini from Trinity Blood. Don't mind me.

Your work is gorgeous. And all your Javert pieces give me an enormous amount of joy. <3

Haha, I love that other people adore Javert as much as I do . Also, I really like the way you draw him, for selfish reasons, meaning it's closer to the way I picture him than a lot of people's interpretations.
Also Javert + strange costumes=WIN

Delighted to meet another appreciator of the good Inspector! I formed my design by considering the original descriptions then combining them in a way far more attractive than Monsieur Hugo no doubt intended.
Indeed

Historically, he's inaccurate, but character-wise he'd be perfect. Good work, as always

And who cares about historical accuracy when it gets in the way of fun, right?
Thank you ^_^

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES AGO!!!! KNIGHT!!!! And my toughts fly apart, and I can't stop to think in "The Kingdom of Heaven" and "Dragon Heart" movies @_@ Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my insanity in this moment is 100x100x100 percent!!!!
Knight's code in Dragonheart:
A knight is sworn to valor.
His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked.
Knight's code in Kingdoom of Heaven:
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Be brave and upright that God may love thee.
Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death.
Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
That is your oath.
Javert is the lawr in every history period of the Humanity @_@
He is the man, isn't He? *Β¬*

I thought you might like this one! And hey, my brain makes those random connections all the time too! I've been seeing references to Les Mis in everything...
Those codes are awesome! They do quite suit M'sieur l'Inspecteur... (Except for the 'protecting the weak' bits, but were he a little less misguided... AUs for the win!)
Now to come up with more historical/fantastical/silly costumes to stuff the poor man into...

Wow, that sword is as big as Ice!
Javert is hot in any costume.

It did end up far bigger than intended, but oh well. It looks cool and I certainly wasn't shooting for accuracy at all. Yep.

He's just delightful no matter what I stuff him into... I'm considering asking for suggestions, maybe starting some sort of silly image series...
