Description
This will be updated once the roleplay is complete !!A picture of Paris, Ezekiel and Hael after Paris decided to check out who they were.
She ends up calling Ezekiel Grumps and Hael Kiddo. Hence the title ~

the ocean and toward the city, brushing through her short fur. She blinked her brown eyes against
the light for a few moments, waiting to adjust to the new light before pushing herself up and shaking
the dirt off her fur. Her sleeping space for the previous night was in between two silos near the edge
of the port and at the edge of the factions territory. It was normally pretty quiet around the silos, because
the humans only needed to use those that had grain in them. These were empty, still needing to be cleaned
from the dust and whatever other dirty things got in them.
Paris, after deciding she looked as good as she did the day before, moved from her sleeping spot and out
toward the port. The last dock didn't often have many visitors, so it would be a good place to go and wake up,
maybe search for some food on the streets along the way.
and find some breakfast. The previous night on the docks had been cold with the wind, which had forced Hael
to curl up next to the large black male for warmth. Waking up with a puppy in his face had put Ezekiel in a rather
irritated mood, and he was putting as much distance between himself and the runt as he could without losing sight of him.
"Keep up," Ezekiel called behind him as he approached a garbage can, nosing the lid off and rising up on his hind legs
to peer inside of it. He didn't find much, only bags of old newspaper and things like that. Definitely nothing edible.
He went back on all fours, shaking his head with a sigh before he continued down the street, noticing the scent of other dogs,
which wasn't too much of a surprise, but it was still unfamiliar. He wasn't sure how he felt about other strays, so he remained
cautious as he walked along, Hael following closely along behind him.
Paris turned, tearing off after it quickly but it got away by the time they reached the other side of the road. She growled
and gave a huff of annoyance, "Probably full of fleas anyway." The female turned her head just as she heard a gruff voice
coming from down the way. A large black shepherd like dog was walking, seemingly talking to himself until she saw a small pup
bouncing around behind him. She frowned, looking over the pup and noticing his scars. She was across the street from the duo
but she trotted over to them none the less, her voice as clear and intrusive as ever. "Hey kiddo, grump here isn't bothering you is he?"
She asked, completely ignoring the shepherd and talking only to the pup. She kept her distance from the shepherd, not knowing how
he would react. It was unusual for older males to be taking care of a pup, and Paris just wanted to make sure the kid was okay.
Even if he wasn't, she wouldn't have anything to do with the pup afterward. Every dog for themselves.
Hael, despite his caretaker's obvious dislike for the newcomer, wagged his tail in greeting and smiled at her. He was a bit confused
by her question, however, tilting his head when she spoke.
"Bothering me?" Hael echoed, looking towards Ezekiel as if he could tell him why this female would think that. Quickly he shook his head,
sitting down and scratching at his ear. "No, ma'am, he's my friend." He answered politely, lowering his ears back sheepishly as the large
shepherd approached with a growl, getting between the two dogs.
"Who the hell are you?" he snapped, standing over Hael protectively as he eyed her warily, practically glaring at her.
She flicked her ears back for a moment, taking a step back from him like he had intruded on royal territory. The female was taller than the
shepherd by a small amount, but with her slender frame compared to his own, she seemed to have more of a height advantage. She turned
her nose down and lifted her eyebrows at the black male when he spoke. She returned the advance with a loud huff, turning her head to the
side a bit as she spoke. "Well if you must know old man, my name is Paris." She spat, returning his glare.
The doberman mutt flicked her long, silky tail and addressed the kid again, "Daddy seems to have a bit of an anger issue doesn't he?"
She mocked the shepherd, a smile appearing on her face. Paris flicked her nose up to the sky, trotting around the shepherd to stand on
his other side, the smile fading again.
losing if they got in a scuffle. In fact, he barely felt threatened by her at all, but he didn't feel like competing for food or having another dog messing with Hael.
The pup seemed relatively unaffected, regardless, and appeared to be intrigued by Paris, staring up at her with a slightly awed expression.
She was tall, much taller than himself, and her tail was so long. He hadn't seen many other dogs up close, and those he had seen he really didn't
like thinking about. As the stranger moved around to Ezekiel's other side, Hael went to follow, only to be stopped by the shepherd's paw.
"He's not mine," Ezekiel corrected in a gruff tone, curling his lip as he eyed her closely. Hael lowered his ears back at his caretaker's tone, glancing
between the two dogs before he finally decided to speak up again.
"Well, I'm Hael and that's Ezekiel," he introduced himself politely, earning a glare from Ezekiel. He didn't understand why the pup was so friendly.
He should have known out of all of them that not all dogs could be trusted.
heart to be motherly. How cute. Paris looked from the black dog to the young pup with the scarred face. He introduced himself and the shepherd very politely,
which earned a smirk from Paris' long muzzle. "Hael hmm? That's pretty unique I must say, kiddo." She turned her gaze to the shepherd and tilted her head to
the side. "Why you letting the runt tag along behind you then? You're a stray aren't you? Every dog for themselves out here.." She smiled, snapping her jaws
shut at the end of her sentence. Only for fun though, she didn't expect a reaction out of the either of them. Looking down at the pup again she sighed softly
before speaking again. "You hungry kid? The dock isn't far from here and theres plenty of those noisy gulls around. They're pretty quick on their reactions, but if
you catch one they tend to taste just like fish and chicken." She said, directed at the pup, but she looked up at the shepherd toward the end of her words.
She was in a good mood, especially that she knew the brute wasn't the one to hurt the pup. Her tail curled up slightly and she managed to show a little bit of
friendliness by waving it back and fourth. It was uncommon for Paris to share her 'feeding grounds' with other strays, but for once, she felt sympathy for the pup.
The grump, not so much.
actually kind of nice. However much he appreciated Ezekiel and his help, he liked to meet new people. "Paris is a nice name. I like it." He added with another childish grin.
Ezekiel grunted in response to the female's questions, ears pinning back a bit. He shifted his scarred legs and glanced at Hael for a moment before he shrugged.
"The kid's been through hell, I pulled him out of it. Wasn't like anyone else was gonna do it." To be honest, Ezekiel wasn't much the fatherly type... Not anymore,
anyway. But, despite the 'survival of the fittest' way of life around there, he wasn't just gonna leave a puppy to die in the cold. But, regardless, he wasn't about to
admit his true reasonings for it in front of a stranger.
Luckily he didn't need to continue the conversation further, because Hael piped up at the mention of food. "I'm starved," he barked, spinning in a quick circle excitedly.
He looked to Ezekiel and whined, ears back and tail wagging. "Can we? Please?"
Knowing there wasn't much else to be found out there, at least until after the humans had their lunch and took out the trash, Ezekiel caved. With a long sigh, he only
nodded, relaxing his previously stiff, rigid body for the time being. "Lead the way, I suppose...?" He said, looking to Paris with a much calmer expression now.
She batted her eyes quickly at the older shepherd, mocking him, before looking back at the pup. "Common then kiddo." She said, turning from the two and trotting down the
sidewalk toward the port. It was early, so the humans wouldn't be up and about too much yet, and the gulls might be half asleep, or busy searching for food themselves.
As you got closer to the sea, the smell of the salt water was stronger and the repeated cries of the birds gave away their position. Although, its not like they were hiding to
begin with. Many of the birds lined the docks, sitting on posts that came out of the water, or on the boats the humans had left tied to them.
follow the female. Annoyed, but without much of a choice, Ezekiel followed along after them, albeit at a much slower pace with his wobbly, aged gait.
Hael trailed after Paris closely, following her lead but also occasionally pausing to make sure Ezekiel wasn't too far behind. As they approached the docks,
Hael's tattered ears went up and he watched all the gulls with a wide-eyed look. He had never seen so many in one place before.
"How do you catch 'em?" He asked Paris, looking up at her. Birds didn't seem like an easy meal to catch, considering they would scatter if they got startled.
She looked down at the pup when he asked her how, per say, would one catch the noisy creatures. The female sat down, raising a leg to scratch
at her ear for a moment before speaking. "Well. You ever see vultures eating at a dead animal on the side of the road?" She paused.. realizing he
probably didn't spend much time near the outer edges of the city, where wildlife was more common to getting hit. "They'll fly in and eat what they can until
a car comes by, in which they move out of the way. But once the car is gone, they come right back. ... These gulls are a lot alike. They might scatter, but if
you can't grab one.. just back off and wait. They normally come right back. After that.. its just being able to get close enough without alerting them, and being
fast enough to grab one." The mutt looked out toward the docks at a group of gulls standing and cawing at each other. She yawned, her jaws coming closed
in a loud fashion. She reached up to scratch at her eat again before standing. She looked back at Ezekiel, "Manage to hear any of that?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
scavengers for awhile. The smell of old, dead meat still made him sick. He looked towards the gulls and nodded in understanding. Sounded simple enough.
As Ezekiel approached, the male scowled and gave Paris a glare, shaking his fur out. "I know how to catch gulls," he grumbled. She hadn't been the first to come
to the docks for food, after all. He'd done this to ravens and crows plenty of times before in the farmlands.
running across her maw. She turned her gaze from the dog out to the gulls, cawing at each other in the middle of the dock. If he wanted to continue to give
her sass, then she'd always be willing to give it right back. Without looking back at the dog, she spoke again, her voice giving a hint of a laugh, "Unless you're
scared too break a bone. I don't know how old you really are, but that white fur doesn't lie to anyone." Paris flicked her tail, looking back at the older dog again.
On a good day, she could maybe catch one or two birds before even she got tired out. But she felt good about today.
birds... When he looked at Hael, however, he realized they were both pretty hungry. A gull would make a good meal.
Huffing, Ezekiel looked between Paris and the gulls. "Alright, fine." Ezekiel grumbled out with a growl, ambling slowly towards the gulls. His hind
legs didn't move normally and he walked with an odd gait, but that didn't seem to stop him. He approached slowly, staring at the gulls and narrowing
his eyes as he looked for one he could catch easily. Spotting one that seemed slower than the others, he singled it out, focusing on it as he walked closer.
He stopped and waited for a moment before charging, rushing into the flock of them and watching them scatter. The one he had picked was a bit slow to
get off the ground, slow enough for Ezekiel to jump up and snap his jaws at it. He clipped a wing, but didn't manage to catch it, though it did fall back to
the ground. Ezekiel took the opportunity to lunge again, this time catching it by the head. He crushed its skull in his jaws, killing it instantly before he looked
back at Hael and Paris. Hael seemed shocked, but excited, tail wagging excitedly as Ezekiel limped back over. Spitting it out on the ground in front of Hael,
he turned to Paris and huffed. "I might be old, but I'm not useless."
Hael sniffed at the dead bird curiously, looking up at Paris and Hael a moment later. "That was amazing!" It earned a snort from Ezekiel, who shook his
head and simply told the pup to eat up while he could.
on a slower bird and flicked her ears back when he almost missed it. Luckily the bird fell back down instead of gaining its balance again and taking off.
Because of this, Ezekiel ended up catching the bird and killing it quickly. When he returned she raised an eyebrow at hims words. "Useless no. Completely
usefull? Probably not that either." She said and shrugged, looking over at Hael who was sniffing at the bird and wagging his tail. His tail managed to hit her
said a few times and she stood up quickly, frowning but said nothing about it.
After a few moments she stretched out, waving her tail in the air for a moment before standing up straight again. "Well. As fun as this has been. I think its
time I take my leave before grumps starts to really get annoyed." She said, aiming her voice toward Hael. "If you ever need anything kid, you can always find
me here." She said, turning to look at Ezekiel for the moment. She meant it toward the both of them actually, but mostly toward Hael. Paris definitely believed
in every dog for themselves, but it was never a crime to help out another dog if they needed it. Especially other strays. They never introduced themselves as
strays, but they didn't have the slightly trashy smell that most Junkyard dogs did. "Enjoy the bird." She said before walking past them, out toward the port area.
moment later. The large shepherd picked up the bird and turned away, limping off in the opposite direction. The pup hesitated to follow, but quickly scampered
after him once Paris was pretty far away, and the two males went off into the rest of the territory.
