Personality:
Altruistic: A very kindhearted and giving feline. It's clear that she cares very very deeply for the humans and others she considers close, serving them selflessly in whatever ways she can. Even when she isn't assigned to any duties you will most likely see her finding other small jobs she can do for Massilia's citizens or the Hunter program.
Perceptive: She is keenly aware of other's emotions even if she doesn't understand herself where they come from and tries to be very sensitive of them. She often keeps track of things that seem to make others either happy or upset and is generally very attentive and sensitive to to another's emotional state.
Hardworking: Artesia is very hardworking, and is not one to sit around while work is to be done. When she starts a task, she will not stop until she's finished the job correctly and thoroughly. She may look and act very doe-eyed, but she's very capable and takes her hunter job just as seriously as any other hunter if not more.
Reliable: If you are teamed with her in a fight, you can most definitely count on her. She will be there until the end to back you up. Artesia is very dedicated, and steadfast feline.
Cooperative: Not one to have to always be right or first, Artesia will often go with others plans, as long as they aren't blatantly stupid. Even if she doesn't particularly like you she'll still do her best to work with you.
Loyal: Deeply loyal, Artesia works hard to protect the city she loves. While she knows not everything about the city is beautiful, she feels the good outweighs the bad. She holds a very personal loyalty to the humans, knowing she owes everything to them.
Eager to Please: She's very driven to make others happy with her. She fears failure like she failed her father in her first coliseum match and actually worries a lot about letting others down or disappointing them.
Background:
Artesia was born to two leopards in Massilia. Her mother was a pet, her father a prized Coliseum Fighter.
Upon her birth, she had two sisters, no males were born in the litter. At first, her father was appalled, and refused to spend time with them. However, as the cubs grew, he began to see potential in Artesia , and took her under his wing.
At a young age, Artesia was trained vigorously by her father. The sessions went for hours, sometimes without food or water. Thias, her father, demanded much out of his little daughter, to which she tried her best to live up to his expectations. And she did.
When only a year old, she was put in her first Coliseum fight. It was a non-death match against a lion about her age. When the gates opened, she spooked. The lion easily beat her, leaving her with the scars on her shoulder. After the match, her father berated her, his angered tone rising with each second. Finally, he stopped pacing, and calmed himself down. When he opened his eyes, he said quietly "Do not lose the next match." And that was that.
The next few matches, Artesia could not get her father's words of disappointment out of her head. She knew she could do better, she had trained better...And in remembering, she did much better. With each passing fight the opponents grew harder, but so did she. She came out on top of the small tournament, bringing her father's master much gold.
After this tournament, however...Was the war. Now two years old, when she heard of the rumors of attacks, she brushed them off with only a shrug. After a late night match, she had returned to her father's home. He wasn't at the fights like he usually was, which was strange and worried her. When she entered the house, she came upon a gruesome scene. A scarred lioness was standing above her bloodied father and his master, blood dripping from her muzzle. Artesia gasped, eyes wide at the sight. Something inside her then snapped. Seeing her father -- one of the better Coliseum fighters -- dead on the ground, made her feel something she had never felt before. Hate. She lunged at the lioness, resulting in a brutal battle. Her hate fueled her, barely feeling the scratches from the weakened lioness.
Finally, it was done. The leopard snarled lowly as she heaved for air, the lioness' form limp beneath her paws. Though it wasn't an Empire cat, she still blamed them for the death of her father, and thus founded her desire to join the Hunters.
Just after the war, she joined the program with the help of a new master, Archaius.
After Joining:

As it was, Artesia was enlisted into the hunter program in the wake of the Empire's mass raid that had ravaged the city. Her anger and rage spent on the lioness who had killed her father and old master left room for grief and emptiness to grow. But as she buried herself in her work she came to realize that there were many in her city who had suffered greatly that night, both humans and Hunters alike. Her grief gave way to pity for Massilia and it's inhabitants, leading her to find more motivation in her work than just a distraction from her own loss. In fact, rather quickly that loss began to fade into the background as she worked harder and harder to serve her master and all the people in her city.

Artesia proved herself to be an ample hunter in some ways. Despite never making a capture and hardly ever leaving the city she was a great protector of the humans and did more than enough work around Massilia, far more than she was asked to do. On one occasion she ran into the famed hunter Jasper while tracking down a stray dog who had stolen a child's toy. She had worked with the male hunter to track down and deal with the dog and had become somewhat of an acquaintance to him through that.
From there their relationship would only grow much to the female's surprise. She had always found Jasper to be enigmatic despite being one of the most well known hunters in the city. During another instance in which part of the city had caught fire Jasper's owner's barn was burning and she'd helped him rescue Anabeth, his owner's daughter and probably Jasper's most beloved human. She had stayed at the manor then as Jasper recovered and had begun to feel almost a protectiveness over the male.. he certainly didn't need it.. did he? He spent so much time worrying about the empire cats and the hunter program, did anyone ever worry for him? Anabeth certainly did and so would Artesia.
It seemed there was never a dull moment hanging around the male leopard. He brought in capture after capture, but it wasn;t much time after that that a raid on the city brought Jasper's thought to be dead twin sister into the city. She escaped with some of her empire cat friends and fled back into the wild Artesia found out later as the whole thing had made Jasper quite distant until he captured his sister and brought her home to ive in the city. After finding all of this out and that his sister was pregnant as well of all things, Artesia took it upon herself to befriend the female and try to help her feel more happy and comfortable in the city.
With the cubs born she remains ever present and ever worrisome about Jasper, splitting her time between him now and her own owner who often wonders where his cat is getting off to at these ridiculous hours.
